The Great Egg Hunt

The Great Egg Hunt

By Paris Dukes

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Place the striped paper with the stripes running vertically. Mat a 12"x3" strip of yellow textured paper on light blue textured paper, trim the mat to 1/8" and glue across the bottom of the page.
  2. Mat a horizontal photo on yellow textured paper, trimming the left, bottom and right sides to 1/8" and leaving the top at 1 3/4". Mat again on light blue textured, trim to 1/8" and glue in the top left corner of the page. Mat a vertical photo on yellow textured paper, trimming the left, top and right sides to 1/8" and leaving the bottom at 7/8". Mat again on light blue textured, trim to 1/8" and glue in the top right corner of the page. Add five egg brads across the bottom edge of the mat.
  3. With the tab on the right, write or computer journal “Happy” on the blue textured tag cut-out. With the tab on the left, write or computer journal “Easter” on the aqua textured tag. Lay a 2" length of blue sheer ribbon centered along the top edge of the horizontal photo's mat. Foam tape the tags so the tabs cover the loose ends of the ribbon, then add an egg brad to each tab.
  4. Write or computer journal the subject's name and the page title on the blank label cut-outs, then add an egg brad to each. Foam tape the labels side-by-side, centered on the yellow textured strip at the bottom of the page. Add a light blue big brad to each tag's tab. Wrap a 7" length of blue sheer ribbon around the base of each big brad, knotting the tails together in the middle.

A Tip From Paris:
It's easy to add computer journaling to blank tags and labels! Just type your journaling and print it onto any piece of scratch paper. Cut out the tag or label you want to use, then lightly secure it centered over the journaled area of the scratch paper. Repositionable glue or Stencil Tape works great. Place the paper back in the printer and run it through a second time to print onto the cut-out. Carefully lift the cut-out from the paper and attach it to your project–it's as easy as that!
