Designer Tip: Use the tool with the pointed end for tracing the outline of the template shapes onto the metal. For a finished design with the embossing on the colored side of the metal, place the metal with the silver side up on the foam pad, then place the template over the metal. For the word mold, place the metal over the mold, colored side up. The sanding block works great for highlighting the embossed areas.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Trim 1” from the opening edge of the card front. With the card fold at the left, cover the remaining card front with burgundy floral paper. Glue a 3 ½” x 6 ½” striped rectangle centered on the card front. Cover the inside with copper metallic cardstock. Glue ribbons along the left side of the card front as shown.
  2. Place the barn red metal with the silver side up over the foam pad. Place the 1F design on the template over the metal then use the pointed tool with firm pressure to trace the outline of the large flower. Turn the metal over and place on your work surface. Use the flat end of one of the tools and the pointed tool to refine the edges of the shapes, along the embossed lines. Sand the top of the embossed areas. Cut out the shape. Repeat this for a 3F shape with Dijon metal, and a large rounded leaf with Poison Ivy metal. Layer the flowers and leaf with foam tape and attach near the top of the card front as shown.
  3. Place a 3 ½” piece of barn red metal over the word “love” on the big daddy mold. Use the pointed and half-rounded tools to refine the word into the metal. Trim to a rectangle. Sand over the top of the embossed word, and the edges of the metal rectangle. Mat on metallic copper cardstock, then on burgundy floral paper. Glue to lower portion of the card, overlapping striped and metallic copper papers as shown.
