Designer Tip: Apply the alcohol inks directly to the surface of the butterfly without diluting with alcohol. This keeps the colors more vibrant and they will show up better against the orange and blue background on the binder.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Paint the outside of the binder with pink paint and let dry. Cut the orange grid paper with yellow border into a 6 1/8"x5 ¾" rectangle. Use the corner rounder on the top and bottom right corners. Glue to right side of the binder.
  2. Tear the corner from the blue border paper to measure 5 ¼" tall and round the corner. Glue to the right side of the orange paper, leaving the torn edge slightly open.
  3. Adhere lengths of green and pink glitter rick rack to each side of the yellow paper border. Cut out a flower from the remaining blue border paper and glue to extend from under the torn edge as shown.
  4. Journal "Lists" and "Notes" on strips of white cardstock and glue to the cover as shown. Place Madeline Pebbles on to some flower centers and a crystal halo around another flower.
  5. Butterfly: Apply blue (pool) and orange (mountain rose) alcohol inks to the medium butterfly and let dry for 15 minutes. Adhere to the binder cover using the foam tape backing and Tacky Glue. Let dry. Cut a blue crystal halo in half and curve above the butterfly for antenna.
  6. Pages: Cover the inside front and back covers with pink dot paper. Fill the binder with lined papers and decorate the corners of several with torn paper corners and Pebbles. This is a nice touch if the binder is a gift.
  7. Pockets: Cover the flap with patterned paper and while the flap it open, cut around the edges to trim the paper. Glue a 2 ¼" wide strip of blue border paper to the bottom edge of the pocket. Re-punch holes using the ¼" wide hole punch. Glue a length of glitter rick rack across the top edge of the paper strip. Label the pocket contents by writing along the open space of the blue border using a fine tip black pen.
