Designer Tips:

  • This knot is the Japanese plum flower, which symbolizes beauty, nobility and courage.
  • I did steps 1-3 in the book with a single strand, then added 4 extra strands following the knot.
  • Use tape to keep your cords in place while you seal them with 3D Crystal Lacquer. The lacquer dries completely clear so you can use either side of the knot.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. With the fold on the left, trim the card to 4 1/4"x5 1/2". Cover the card with the Boutique floral border paper with the border on the left. Mat a 4 1/4"x1/2" strip of Boutique squares paper on Boutique green houndstooth, leaving 1/8" on the top and bottom. Glue across the bottom.
  2. Use the Mizuhiki Magic book to make the Plum Flower Knot with 3 strands of magenta and 2 strands of light blue. Leave the ends 2 1/2" long. Use tape to keep the strands aligned, then seal areas of the back of the knot with 3D Crystal Lacquer and let dry.
  3. Cut 4 1/4"x2 1/2" of Boutique teal dot paper and place the knot at the bottom right so the ends are just overlapping the rectangle. Trace around the ends and knot and cut out. Glue this piece to the top of the card. Glue the knot lined up with this piece, attaching with Zots.
  4. Cut out 2 small butterflies from the Boutique floral border or Boutique squares paper and glue to the Boutique teal dot piece at the top as shown.
  5. Cut a Bracket Label from white cardstock using the Layered Labels Template. Print "Congratulations" on it and ink edges using Berrylicious ink and a makeup sponge. Mat on Boutique pink/green medallion paper leaving a 1/16" border. Ink edges and foam tape to card 1/4" from the left and 1 1/4" from the bottom. Zot a small Boutique pink ribbon knot to the base of the greeting. Ink all edges with Berrylicious.
  6. Inside: Cut 4 1/8"x5 1/2" of Boutique squares paper, ink edges, and glue to card. Cut 4 1/8"x4 1/4" of Boutique pale green paper (on floral border page), ink edges, and glue to center.
  7. Cut a Bracket Frame B from white cardstock, using the Layered Labels Template, ink the edges, and print a greeting in the center. Cut a Bracket Frame A from Boutique pink/green medallion and ink edges. Glue the greeting to the pink/green frame and glue to center. Zot a Boutique pink ribbon knot at the top of the greeting.
