Meeting Mickey
By Shauna Berglund-Immel

Supplies:

Instructions

  1. Use the red stars with side border paper as the background. Mat a 5x7 vertical photo on dark yellow cardstock, trimming the mat to 1/16, and ink the edges black. Mat again on white cardstock, trimming the mat to 1/8 and ink the edges. Mat a third time on black cardstock, trimming the mat to 3/8. Glue the matted photo 3/8 in from the border and 1/2 from the top edge of the page.
  2. Punch out the Happiest Place on Earth fragment and ink the edges. Use one dark yellow mini brad in each end to secure the fragment down the top left side of the photo. Punch out the Laugh and Giggle fragments and ink the edges, then add them to the bottom right corner of the matted photo with one dark yellow mini brad in each end. Punch out the red caption bubble and computer journal or use a black pen to journal onto the blank space. Use foam tape to secure the bubble in the top right corner of the photo.
  3. Punch out the red star frame and Mickey Mouse artwork in the center of the frame. Frame a small photo in the window of the red star frame. Cut a 3 1/2 length of black grosgrain ribbon and trim the tails at an angle. Tie a knot in the center of the ribbon length, then use a Zot to secure the knot in the top right corner of the red stars frame. Turn over one large square slide mount so the black side is facing up, then frame the Mickey Mouse artwork in the window of the slide mount. Cut a 2 length of black grosgrain ribbon and fold it in half, then secure the loose ends behind the top of the slide mount to create a tab. Add one dark yellow mini brad to the base of the ribbon tab. Use foam tape to secure the red stars frame and the Mickey Mouse slide mount under the photo as shown.
  4. Turn over four large square slide mounts so the black sides are facing up. Cover the back of three of the slide mounts with dark yellow cardstock and one with white cardstock. Cut four 2 lengths of black grosgrain ribbon and fold each length in half. Secure the loose ends of one ribbon length behind the top of each of the slide mounts and add one dark yellow mini brad to the base of each of the ribbon tabs. Use foam tape to attach the slide mounts at varying angles down the left side of the page, placing the slide mount with the white cardstock at the bottom. Punch out two hands, the red shorts and the yellow shoes and use foam tape to add one punch-out to each of the slide mounts, as shown. Use a black pen to journal the date onto the white cardstock in the bottom slide mount.

Cinderella

By Shauna Berglund-Immel

Supplies:

Instructions

  1. Cut a 5 wide piece of light blue pixie dust paper and glue it over the right side of the lavender pixie dust paper to create the background. Use a black pen to add faux zigzag stitching penwork down the seam between the two papers. Mat a vertical photo on white cardstock, trimming the mat to 1/16, and ink the edges black. Mat again on pink pixie dust paper, trimming the mat to 1/8 and ink the edges. Glue the matted photo centered over the light blue portion of the background, 1/4 from the top edge.
  2. Punch out the Cinderella tag and add one lime mini brad to the tab. Use foam tape to secure the tag at an angle over the top right corner of the photo. Cut an 8 length of light blue sheer ribbon and trim the tails at an angle. Tie the ribbon into a shoestring bow and use a Zot to attach the bow to the top of the tag. Punch out the Cinderella label and use foam tape to attach it at an angle overlapping the bottom of the photo. Cut another 8 length of light blue sheer ribbon and trim the tails at an angle. Tie the ribbon into a shoestring bow and use a Zot to attach the bow to the label. Use a black pen to journal the name and date around the photo.
  3. Cover 3 stereo slide mounts, one with lime, one with pink and one with light blue pixie dust paper. Ink the outer edges of each covered slide mount with trace around the edges of each slide mount window with a black pen. Punch out the rose tile and add it to the window of the lime slide mount, then punch out the pumpkin carriage tile and add it to the window of the pink slide mount. Punch out the Cinderella Castle tag and frame the castle in the window of the light blue slide mount, trimming the excess tag even with the edges of the slide mount. Punch 4 holes across the top of each slide mount and add one teal, one lime, one dark pink and one yellow mini brad to the holes, creating a different sequence on each of the slide mounts. Use foam tape to secure the slide mounts evenly spaced over the lavender portion of the background.
  4. Punch out the Pretty, Special and Princess fragments and glue one at an angle across the bottom of each of the slide mounts. Cut two 8 lengths of light blue sheer ribbon and trim the tails of each at an angle. Tie each length into a shoestring bow and use Zots to secure the bows between the slide mounts.
