Designer’s Tip: Here’s a tip to keep the center shape of the embossed Shimmer Sheets clean while inking. Emboss a piece of white cardstock with the embossing folder, then trim out the center and place it over the same shape on the embossed Shimmer Sheets. This works well to use as a mask while inking.
- Front: Place your card with the fold at the top. Ink the outer 1/4" edge of the card front, all the way around. Let dry. Cut a 6 3/8”x4 7/8” Powder Blue Suede and glue centered on the card front. Glue 1” wide ivory grosgrain ribbon centered across the card, trimming sides evenly.
- Place a 6”x5” piece of Blue Iris Shimmer Sheets inside the embossing folder, making sure the inside edge is against the fold. Run through your die-cutting/embossing machine, using the appropriate plates for your machine. Remove the embossed Shimmer Sheets from the embossing folder. Repeat using plain white cardstock then trim the scalloped shape from the center.
- Place the embossed Shimmer Sheets flat on your work surface, with the embossed side up. Place the white cardstock shape on the center to mask the shape. Take your Black SurfaceZ ink pad and apply the ink directly over the surface of the embossed frame image. Let dry.
- Trim around the outside edges of the embossed Shimmer Sheets frame. Apply mounting squares to the back and place on a 5 7/8”x4 1/8” Turquoise Suede. Glue centered on the card. Place 3 blossoms on the lower left corner of the frame as shown. Cut around Dazzles™ “Best Wishes”. Leave it on the backing and ink it black with Surfaces ink and let dry. Place the words on the center of the frame, to the right of the flowers as shown.
