You Light Up the Holidays
By LeNae Gerig

Supplies:

Instructions
For the Card Front:

  1. Place the card with the fold on the top. Starting 1 1/4" from the left side of the fold, use a ruler and a pencil to draw a line that extends from the fold down to the bottom left corner of the card. Repeat for the right side of the card, starting 1 1/4" from the right side of the fold. Trim the card along the pencil lines to create the trapezoid shape.
  2. Cove the card front with green with red flourish paper, positioning part of the flourish in the bottom left corner of the card. Ink the edges of the card black.
  3. Cut out the Christmas light border overlay and apply a small amount of glue stick to the back of the overlay, under the printed areas. Glue the overlay across the card front, 3/4" from the top edge, and trim the excess even with the edges of the card.
  4. Cut out the "You light up the holidays" overlay and glue it centered over the green portion of the large green with argyle border tag. Trim the excess overlay even with the edges of the tag. Glue the tag centered on the card front with the tab overlapping the Christmas light overlay border.
  5. Tie a 9" length of burgundy grosgrain ribbon into a shoestring bow, then use a Zot to attach the bow over the tab.

For the Card Inside:

  1. Cut a 1 1/2" wide strip of green with red flourish paper (not including part of the flourish) and ink the long edges black. Glue across the inside of the card, 5/8" from the fold, and trim any excess even with the edges of the card.
  2. Cut out the green/red striped label and glue it centered over the paper strip. Cut out the green "Merry Christmas" overlay and glue it centered over the label.

Supplies:

Instructions
For the Card Front:

  1. Place the card with the fold on the left and trim 1 1/2" off the bottom edge, leaving a 5" square card. Ink the edges of a 4 5/8" square of light blue crackle paper and glue centered over the card front.
  2. Cut out the snowflake border overlay and apply a small amount of glue stick to the back of the overlay, under the printed areas. Glue the border across the card front, 1/2" from the bottom edge. Trim the excess border even with the edges of the card and set aside for use on the inside of the card.
  3. Cut a 14" length of aqua grosgrain ribbon and wrap it around the left side of the card front, near the fold. Knot the tails together toward the top of the card front and use a Zot to hold the knot in place.
  4. Cut out three of the circular snowflake overlays. Punch a hole in the center of each and add a blue or teal mini brad to each hole (add a blue brad to the snowflake that will be in the middle and a teal brad to the snowflakes that will be on each end). Use the brads to attach the snowflake overlays evenly spaced across the top of the light blue crackle paper.
  5. Punch a hole in each end of the "Celebrate the season" overlay and add a teal mini brad to each. Use the brads to attach the sentiment centered between the snowflake border and the circular snowflakes.

For the Card Inside:

  1. Ink the long edges of a 2 3/4" wide strip of light blue crackle paper. Recall the excess snowflake border overlay from the card front and glue it 1/2" from the top of the paper piece, trimming any excess even with the edges of the card. Glue the light blue crackle paper over the right side of the card inside.
  2. Knot a 3" length of aqua grosgrain ribbon and use a Zot to secure the knot centered over the snowflake border. Glue the "A snowflake is winter's butterfly" overlay centered about 1/2" below the snowflake border.
