Sara's Surfaces™ Boxes: Doggie Treats Bag
By Susan Cobb
This little purse is a perfect container for a few of Fido’s favorite treats!
Supplies:
Instructions:
- Paint the handle, sides, and bottom of the purse with brown acrylic paint and let dry.
- Paint the front flap with red acrylic paint and let dry. (Tip: Painting a portion of the surface is an easy way to add color and you can coordinate it with your paper.)
- Cover the front and back of the purse with striped paper. (Tip: An easy way to make sure your paper fits perfectly is to cover the surface of the box with glue and line up your paper in the upper left corner so it starts at the left crease and just below the handle or flap. Then, all that’s left to do is trim off the excess on the two remaining sides!)
- Use an X-acto® knife to cut through your paper along the curved slit so you can tuck in the red flap.
- Run your paintbrush with the brown paint along the edges of your paper to avoid any white space and let dry.
- Attach the “woof” Brad Buddy™ to the front, just below the curved slit.
- Fold the box into shape and tuck the red flap into the slit in front.
- Punch out the blank circle die cut. Use a black Sharpie® extra fine tip marker to write “treats” on the tag and add the doggie bone brad near the top.
- Punch a 1/16” hole at the top of the tag and run a small piece of black thread through and tie to create a loop.
- Cut a 3” piece of black ribbon. Run it through the loop so the tag hangs from the ribbon.
- Tie the ribbon on the handle of the box. (Tip: Don’t knot the ribbon because it’ll have to be untied to open the box.)
