At PaperWishes.com there are a million fun products to add creativity to a page! Once you get the basics, these are some of my favorite “toys”:
Dazzles™ Outline Stickers
These are decorative stickers to be used as embellishments on your scrapbook pages. They’re inexpensive, fun to use and they’re available in just about every look, style and theme.
Embellishments
You can decorate your pages with all sorts of embellishments. Buttons, ribbons, stickers, paper and fabric flowers, felt shapes and glitter can all safely be used on a scrapbook page. Brads are both an embellishment and an attaching tool, plus they come in all shapes and sizes. Simply poke them through the paper, then spread the prongs apart to secure. Brad Buddies™ are metal embellishments you attach to a page with brads, they come in many different themes and add a nice touch to a page.
Punches
Punches are tools used to punch shapes out of paper. They come in shapes of all sizes, from large circles to small flowers, and corner edgers to small borders. As a beginner, you’ll want to pick the most versatile shapes. Some basics are large and small circles and scalloped circles, you can layer them to create journaling blocks or to mat an embellishment or stamped image on your page. To use, simply slide the paper in the metal slit, then punch down, keeping your hand flat on the widest part of the punch. Handheld hole punches are another good investment. You can use a 1/8” hole punch to punch holes at the top of tags.
Templates
Templates are similar to stencils. You can use them to trace designs or trace then cut out to create embellishments. Try the Easy Templates for mat and journaling shapes or the Fold-It Templates for three-dimensional accents. They’re easy to use, yet the results look anything but easy.
Chalk
Acid-free chalk is a great tool for coloring, highlighting and adding dimension to a scrapbook page. You can highlight the edge of a photo or journaling or color a stamped image or embellishment.
