Covering a Slide Mount
Slide
mounts are wonderous little treasures that are useful for all kinds of
projects—a focal on a handmade card, an ornament, an accent on a
scrapbook page or altered book—the possibilities are endless! Our
designers love to cover slide mounts with gorgeous patterned and solid
papers, then accent them for a great embellishment.
So how do yougo from regular slide mount to wonderful work of art? It’s
simple.
Step One:
Apply glue on to one side of the slide mount and glue to the back of the
paper, then trim the paper even with
the sides.
Step Two:
Use an X-acto® knife and ruler, if needed to cut an “X”
in the center. It’s easiest if you do this patterned paper side
down. Be careful not to cut your slide mount.
Step Three:
After you cut the “X”, pull the triangles to the back of the
slide mount and glue to the sides of the slide mount. Trim the excess
paper from the edges of the slide mount.
Step
Four:
Turn the slide mount over and use as desired. Try framing a photo, journaling
or a piece of paper art, adding a clip, brad, embossed charm or ribbon.
