Happy Memorial Day (to all you fellow Americans out there)!
Hi, all! I’m back! I also just wanted to thank everyone for their more than generous comments on my last post, and thank you also for your patience and loyalty with this blog. Gabriel had a very happy birthday and I was also working hard on the NEXT Week of Webisodes, airing in June! I’m looking forward to it.
Today, I’m showing you a new artful card kit that was featured on the last Week of Webisodes: Emma’s Chalkboard Artful Card Kit. I just love this style of design: cute, shabby chic, and elegant. I also love the white writing on black chalkboard look. On this card, I made the white Chalkboard Greetings Dazzles pop even more by putting it on a black suede background (which is even blacker than chalkboard). Add some ribbon, die-cuts, Embellies, and you’re pretty much set! This card is a quick make, which is great so you’ll have time to make a bunch of other cards with this awesome artful card kit (and 5-item bundle!). Have fun, all!
Hi! Today I have a fun a fabulous “Fit & Flair” Paper Dresses Template! This has 4 styles of skirts that can be layered, mixed and matched with tops and accessories to create dozens of fun looks! I think of it like paper dolls, for grown-ups! The neat thing is that you can use any kind of paper, even suede paper or metallic to get some nice texture or shine on your “outfits.” It really is a lot of fun. I also use some Azalea (a pretty pink) suede paper, Roses & Lace papers and Scrapbooking Dazzles, and Pink Taffeta Stickles for added bling. I hope you enjoy!
Hi there! Today I’m excited to show you the Pop Up Box Die Cut Cards! These look very impressive when opened, yet they fold flat to mail (envelopes included in the pack). I’m using quite a few “sweet” products: The Sweet Life scrapbooking papers, The Sweet Life Foil Paper Tole, Tasty Treats Dazzles, and Confetti Cake Ribbons! Everything to satisfy your crafting “sweet tooth!” I hope you have as much fun with this as I did. Enjoy!
Hi, everyone! Today I have another Mother’s Day card! You could do one for mother, and one for grandmother, or mother-in-law, or friend who is a mother! Of course, you can always change the wording for any occasion you like. I am using the easy-to-use Label Gatefold Die Cut Cards today, but instead of using them as a gatefold card, I converted one into a tri-fold card. This is super easy to do, since all you have to do is remember NOT to fold along two of the fold lines. That’s pretty easy, right? Well, I hope so, because to be honest, the rest of this card kind of took a long time due to drying time of the embossing paste. But, I hope you all enjoy my tutorial! Don’t forget to check out this week’s bundle deal: the “Artful Mannequin” stencil, the Butterfly Garden Artful Card Kit, and the Label Gatefold Die Cut Cards (in which you get 5 cards & 5 envelopes!) What a deal!
Hi, all! Today I’m showing you another triple-easel card, this one is a Heart Triple Easel Card with a pastel Mother’s Day theme. I use the intricate Roses Cutting Die in a unique way with a masking technique, but the great part is I can use the mask as part of my card when I’m done (I show you how in the video)! The other nice thing about this project is that you don’t need a particular paper pack to make it. I used 3 colors of ink for my hearts and easel bases, and the rest is just the (very pretty) Mother’s Day Floral Dazzles and a bit of ribbon. It was easy using the art daubers (and they gave sort of a circular fingerprint effect), but I’m sure you could recreate the look using a cosmetic sponge or whatever you have (maybe even your fingers?). I hope you have fun with this one! Oh, and don’t forget your mother on Mother’s Day this year, which is Sunday, May 10th! (That reminds me–I can’t believe my son’s 2nd birthday is already on May 15th!!)
Hey all, I hope you had a fabulous Easter! Today I have a bright and shiny Star Triple Easel Card. At first glance, this card might not look too fancy, but when you open up all the easels, it really has that WOW factor! I used the Star Triple Easel Die Cut Card set (which includes envelopes and pieces to make 3 cards), along with the ever-so-versatile Gypsy Jewels Scrapbooking Papers and the fun Wind & Waves Embossing Folder! Check out my easy inking technique which can be used 2 ways to create different looks! Oh, and I of course can’t forget the Everyday Greetings 3-pack of Dazzles, which are also SO versatile (pluse they come with 51 Dazzles!) Best wishes to all this week, and happy crafting!
Hello everyone! Spring is here, and I thought I’d do a cheer-up card. This one says “Keep Calm and Smile On” and is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face. This week I’m showcasing the Wreath Cutting Die set, which includes not only the fabulous wreath but an intricate rose, rose silhouette (for backing the rose), and a sprig of leaves. I only use the wreath on this card, but you could definitely do a lot more with this set. I also LOVE the Chalkboard Scrapbooking Papers, which are so chic and trendy. I hope you enjoy this tutorial, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
Hey there! Today’s card showcases a very fun template for a Double Pocket Treat Holder! This cute card (or treat holder) has a pocket both on the front and on the back to hold a multitude of goodies! I use a very cute paper pack called Pretty Little Posies, as well as the Pretty Posies Die-Cuts. What a perfect project to welcome in spring! In this video I show you how to use a scoring board to score your fold lines, but you can always use the tried and true method of the back of your craft knife and a ruler to score your lines. We’re all about options here! I need to make one note on my video: I didn’t have the actual Amber Rose Embossing Powder with me, so I had to use a similar-colored substitute–however, the Amber Rose embossing powder on Paper Wishes is a GLITTER embossing powder (on the jar it actually says “embossing glitter“), which will be way pretty on your card!
Also featured today are the ever-so-versatile White Lacy Borders Dazzles. These are intricate 8-inch long stickers, and some of them are duplicated on the sheet so you can extend your border! I do love these Dazzles, they are an oldie but a goodie! Speaking of goodies…what to put inside your pockets? Well, here I’ve simply used a couple of die-cuts for tags, but for a nice little treat you could tuck in a fun-size pack of Skittles, M&M’s, Ghiradelli chocolate square, your favorite packet of tea, gift card, love note, letter to a friend, or cash! Or what about some earrings or necklace attached to a tag? I sure wouldn’t mind a gift like that! Well, happy crafting, and thanks for joining me this week!
P.S. I loved reading all of the comments on last week’s Week of Webisodes. If you are one of our fans, thank you so much! I worked hard on those projects, and guess what…I’m working on another WOW as we speak! This one is slated to air at the end of April, so be on the lookout! In the meantime, if you missed the past week, just go to the Webisodes page and click on Archives, where you’ll find them all!
Hi, peeps! Easter is quickly approaching on April 5th, so I thought I do an Easter card today. It is made using the Label Swing Die-Cut Cards and the (oval) Label Small Stamp. Although, you might not recognize the label stamp on my card, since I transformed them into ornate Easter eggs! The other thing that is unique about this card is that you do not see a greeting on the front. Is that a cardmaking no-no? Well, I’m here to tell you that with crafting, anything goes! On this card I also use White Jewel Border Dazzles and Flamingo Liquid Pearls to decorate my Easter eggs. I also show you how to transform dark colored Dazzles into white Dazzles! It’s really quite simple. That’s me, Simply Ann! Enjoy!
P.S. Don’t forget to hop on over to the Paper Wishes Webisodes page each day of this week (March 16-20) for WEEK OF WEBISODES: ANN’S SPRING LOOK! Fill up your shopping cart all week and put in your order at the end (and get free shipping over $79!)
