Father’s Day Card

Father's Day Card 1

Father's Day Card 2

Father's Day Card 3

Hello, all! Today’s video is Father’s Day themed, since it’s coming up here in about 2 weeks! I love the funky Mustache & Glasses stamps. You definitely don’t have to use them just for Father’s Day. I am, just because my father just happens to have a mustache and glasses. This card features the juxtaposition of the fun and funky Rad Dad Dazzles & Mustache stamp, and the more distressed/weather look of the Homeward Bound papers and Embellies. I hope you enjoy it! An added plus: This card is a quick make, only takes about 20 minutes! Happy (early) Father’s Day to all those dads out there!

Iris Folding Owl Card 4

This week’s card is the first iris folding card I’ve done on the blog. The technique is a bit time-consuming, but the overall effect is worth it. Most people looking at this type of card for the first time say “Whoa, how did you do that?” So for an extra special wow factor, try out iris folding! I believe it’s called iris folding after the iris of an eye. Enjoy, and thanks for sticking with me!

Poor Baby

This might be your facial expression when you see there’s no video up yet…haha

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to get a video done yet this week–I promise it’s coming, probably in the next couple of days. I’ve been overwhelmingly busy the past several days…being a mom, working on more Webisode projects (shhh… it’s not airing until next month!) and also being out of town for Memorial Day weekend (and having to lug my craft supplies along). I hope you all had a more relaxing time than me! Anyways, I hope you’ll forgive me and I look forward to getting everything done so you can enjoy another piece of “creative inspiration.” By the way, Happy Memorial Day (belated)!

Four Mini Cards 5

Hi all, sorry for the delay–very busy here, plus my little one is teething badly. This week I’m demonstrating how you can make four fabulous mini cards using a single standard (5″ x 6.5″) blank card. I’ve done this once before on the blog, but in case you missed it, here it is again! This time I’m showing off some new products such as the Rhapsody Paper Pack and Embellies, cute Lightbulb and Pocketwatch stamps, and fun accessories like Peacock specialty paper and 2 sets of Bling. Lots to love here! Thanks so much for sticking with me and following my blog! Here’s to another crafty Monday!

Butterflies Cutting Dies

Butteflies Dies Card 4

Butteflies Dies Card 3

Butteflies Dies Card 2

Hello, everyone! Today’s card has a fun, fluttery, delicate look. And, did I mention bling? You might not have though of using pearls and rhinestones together, but I think it does work on this card. The 6×6 Rosemary & Thyme Paper Pack works beautifully with the cutting dies, and I love all the petite patterns. I think I just like little things in general. Good things come in small packages! These Butterflies dies are awesome, and you can use them in so many ways! I used 3 out of the 5 dies on this card, and blinged up the large center butterfly for a big impact! I hope you all enjoy!

The product bundle is up and ready! (link) Yay! (updated 4/30, 2:12PM EST)

Sorry for the delay, everyone! By the way, if you haven’t checked it out yet, please go see the Week of Webisodes going on this week–it’s called “Ann’s First Look” and Paulette and Gail showcase projects that I made (many hours of hard work went into those!)–I hope you like them! If you missed a day or two, all of them are available if you click on the Webisode & Gallery Archive.

Okay, back to today…it’s the end of April now, and coming up on May 3rd is National Scrapbooking Day! Just another excuse to pull out the craft stash and make something pretty! I’m using the “Susan’s Flowers” Color Me Ebony Paper Pack (6 papers included), Mother’s Day Dazzles, and Design Tool Kit #5. The colored cardstock is from the Pearlescent Cardstock pack. To color the background, I used the Blue Set of the (amazing, awesome) Gelatos. So Lovely. See how easy these are to use! I love ‘em so much I bought the full 28-color Gelatos Gift Set (a fabulous gift idea for anyone even mildly artistic. Or yourself). Alright, enough typing, here’s the video!

Mother's Day Card 3

Mother's Day Card 4

Mother's Day Card 5

This week I’m making a Mother’s Day card, although you don’t need a national holiday to send your mother (or a mother you know) a card! I am excited to share with you a special inking technique using embossing folders–it really is beautiful (you might have noticed I have twice as many photos up as normal–the last 3 are photos of the inside of the card, which uses the reverse technique of the front!). I just got carried away trying to convey the fantastic color and dimension that this technique creates! I love the Simply Susan’s papers, they are just up my alley, especially the color combos (and how awesome that Aquamarine Fluid Chalk ink happens to match perfectly?). I hope you are as excited about experimenting with this newfound technique as I am! Or maybe you’ve already discovered it yourself. Either way, whoever you send this card to is sure to be impressed! (Congratulations if you caught that pun) :) Get ready to have some embossing folder fun!

Carousel Stamp Set

Carousel Stamps 1

Carousel Stamps 2

Carousel Stamps 3

I’m “Sending Smiles” today with a cute and fun shaped card. Isn’t this stamp set so cute? I think this card would be fun for little ones. The shape of this card is super easy to create, thanks to the Design Tool Kit #6. All the Design Tool Kits (by Hot Off The Press) are awesome, and this one is no exception. I only use one of the pieces in the kit, but it’s so versatile, I’m sure I’ll use it again soon. The stamp is colored in by Spectrum Noir pens, which are alcohol-based, and blend wonderfully. I show you how in the video. Also, if you’re not familiar with using Jewel Dazzles, stay tuned–I give a fool-proof way to apply the tiniest of stickers. I hope you enjoy this simple (but cute!) card, and thanks for tuning in to Simply Ann!

Birthday Cheer Stamp Set

Birthday Cheer Stamps Card 1

Birthday Cheer Stamps Card 2

Birthday Cheer Stamps Card 3

Another birthday card today–this time, I’m showcasing a beautiful stamp set called Birthday Cheer. All the greetings stamps are nice and large (measuring about 1 1/2 to 3 inches), and the best thing is, they make it super simple to make your card! The words are designed beautifully and are super detailed. I love ‘em. The other fun thing I did with this card is I made my own checkered background! It’s easy to do, and I hope you try it with other paper packs as well! I love the effect it creates. Oh, and I show you how I make bows to go across the whole card–I use this technique often. The black ribbon has dots on one side only, so it’s bit trickier to make it so that the dots end up on the correct side (I hope you’re able to understand what I did in the video). Anyway, just another tip to share with you all! Enjoy, and have a sunshine-y day!
