Designer’s Tip: Crumpling the background paper adds to the distressed look of the card. Inking the paper creases with rusty hinge distress ink gives the card a vintage look.

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Place your card with the fold on your left. Ink the edges with rusty hinge using a cosmetic sponge. Cut 4 3/4”x6 1/4” black dot paper. Crumple it into a ball, then uncrumple and smooth. Place the paper on a flat work surface, with a piece of scrap paper underneath, then skim the rusty hinge ink pad over the top of the paper. Dab the ink all over the paper using the cosmetic sponge. Glue it centered on the card.
  2. Punch out the frame die-cut, and punch out the die-cut inside of it. Using the sponge, ink the sides of the inside die-cut with rusty hinge. Stamp the greeting on the center with black ink. Stamp three hearts on the right of the greeting. Glue it overlapping the card edge at an angle as shown. Back the frame die-cut with cream swirl paper, but do not glue the paper to it. Ink the paper with rusty hinge using the sponge. Glue it overlapping the card edge on the bottom-left side, at an angle as shown. Using a paint brush, lightly ink rusty hinge on the outside edges of the frame as shown. Foam tape it on the cream paper.
  3. Stamp the telephone on cardstock and cut around it with 1/16” borders. Lightly brush rusty hinge on the inside edges of the image using a paint brush. Glue it on the cream paper, centered in the frame. Tie a bow of 1/2” cream grosgrain ribbon and cut the strands at 1 1/4” in length at an angle. Zot™ it on the top-left side, above the frame. Ink a length of 1/4” white sheer ribbon using the sponge. Tie a bow and cut the strands at 1/2” in length. Zotä it on the greeting die-cut, below the hearts.
  4. For the inside: Using the sponge, ink the bottom-right corner of the card with rusty hinge. Stamp the typewriter on cardstock with black ink, and cut around it with 1/16” borders. Lightly brush rusty hinge on the inside edges of the image. Glue it on the bottom-right corner, 1/2” from the edges. Stamp the sentiment centered 2” from the top.
