Note: This card utilizes Sketch L-11 from the Layered Cards chapter on the Card Sketches CD.
Instructions:
- For the card front: Turn the card with the fold at the top and trim to 5"x5". Cut pink striped flocked paper to cover the front and ink the edges. Glue to the card, securing just the upper half. Cut 3½"x3½" purple damask flocked paper and 1½"x4½" purple cardstock and ink the edges of both. Stamp a border on the left edge of the cardstock, alternating the flower and swirl. Glue both pieces to the card front, overlapped as shown and ½" from the lower edge.
- Cut 1 5/8"x2 7/8" moments flocked paper from the unflocked area and stamp the chick positioned near the top. Mat on black cardstock with 1/32" borders and glue to the front as shown. Wrap ribbon around the front, knotting it near the left side. Glue the constructed front securely. Stamp “chick” on an unflocked section of moments flocked paper with two flowers as shown. Ink the edge and foam tape over the ribbon next to the knot.
- For the inside: Print the sentiment on butterfly corner flocked paper, positioned as shown. Cut to 4½" square, ink the edges, and glue centered on the inside. Stamp single flowers among the flocked butterflies. Cut ¾"x5" purple cardstock and stamp a flower/swirl border on it. Mat the right edge on black cardstock with a 1/16" border. Wrap and tie ribbon around the piece, 1½" from the top, then glue along the left side.
