Designer Tip: Layer the butterfly die-cuts with foam tape for a contrasting and dimensional effect.
Instructions
- Place your card with the fold at the left. Cover the card front with tan text paper, then ink the edges brown. Punch out the following die-cuts: large heart, rectangle with dark brown dotted border and text center, red flower with large dark brown dotted swirls, small dotted swirl, large butterfly, 1 1/2" green butterfly, and tiny red flower.
- Glue the rectangle die-cut near the upper left corner. Mat long sides of a 1”x6 1/2" striped paper rectangle on black cardstock with 1/16” borders. Glue vertically to the card front, 1/2" from the left edge. Place the large heart die-cut overlapping the striped paper and text paper, 3/4" from the right side and 1/2" from the bottom. Place the red flower with large swirls tucked beneath the point of the heart as shown. Foam tape pieces in place. Glue/foam tape small swirl overlapping the upper right edge of the heart.
- Layer the small butterfly over the center of the large one with foam tape. Foam tape angled over the heart die-cut as shown. Cut out “Hi there” tag and foam tape angled over striped paper near the heart. Foam tape tiny red flower over top of tag. Tie a light green satin ribbon bow and Zot to the upper left edge of the heart die-cut.
- Cut a 1/2"x6 1/2" tan text paper strip and glue even with the right edge of the inside. Mat long sides of a 1”x6 1/2" striped paper on black cardstock with 1/16” borders. Glue even with the left edge of the tan text paper. Ink edges of papers brown. Punch out the tan text/butterfly tag and glue centered to the left of the paper strips. Cut out the “I’m so lucky to have a friend like you!” green oval and glue overlapping the tag and striped paper. Punch out remaining red flower/large swirls die-cut and glue overlapping the green oval. Zot knotted ribbon near oval as shown.
