- Trim the card to a 5" square and place it with the fold on the left.
- Cut a 4 3/4" square of red texture paper. Glue a 1"x3 1/2" strip of yellow texture paper even with the bottom left edge of the red square. Glue a 1"x3 1/2" piece of pink texture paper even with the top right edge. Ink the outside edges of the square and add penwork. Glue the square centered on a 5" square of black cardstock.
- Wrap two lengths of black grosgrain ribbon around the square, covering the seams between the papers. Tape the ribbon ends to the back side. Glue the papers to the card front.
- Place the card front on a cutting mat and cut a 1 7/8" window in the bottom right corner. Ink the edges of the window.
- Zot™ a bow of black ribbon where the two ribbon lengths meet. Computer journal “Happy Birthday” on white cardstock and crop to a tag shape. Ink the edges and add penwork, then mat on black cardstock. Foam tape the tag with the tab next to the bow.
- Inside:
- Ink the edges of a 1"x2 1/4" piece of yellow texture paper. Glue the paper to the left end of a 4 1/2"x2 1/4" piece of red texture paper and ink the edges. Add penwork around all the edges, then mat on black cardstock. Glue across the bottom of the card inside.
- Draw penwork around the edges of four 3/4" squares of white cardstock. Add a present brad to each square. Glue the squares to a 1 3/4" square of black cardstock. Foam tape the square to the right end of the red paper, so it's framed in the card front's window when the card is closed.
