Thanks for emailing! You're right, it's a little trickier to cut cardstock for these shapes. Our designers prefer to use regular weight paper (any standard patterned paper) or vellum. It's simply easier to cut than cardstock. If you want the two-sided effect, you can either use paper with a white back and chalk it, ink it or stamp on it before tracing and cutting, use double-sided paper (not cardstock) or glue two lighter-weight papers back-to-back. If you do this, glue the papers with a glue stick and make sure to cover the paper completely. I often place these between a stack of books or something so they get completely flat as they dry.
