Designer Tip: Mix different colored fibers together to create a one-of-a-kind look. Iron the parchment for 2-5 seconds to set the Dicrofiber. You can iron a bit longer and scorch the fibers for a different look. More fibers yields a more solid mat while less fibers makes a more see-through, looser mat. Once you've made a fiber mat, test it on different papers as the translucent quality of the fibers will make it look different on every paper. Once set, fiber can be cut with scissors or an X-acto® knife, stamped, or punched. Dicrofiber mat can be adhered by applying glue stick to the paper surface and then attaching the mat.
Instructions:
- Trim the card to a 5” square and place with fold on top. Cover card front with pink diamond paper. Punch two 1/8” holes in the card, ½” from the top and right side, and ½” from the bottom and left side. Fold a 6” piece of sheer lavender ribbon in half. Coming from the inside of the card, pull the folded end through the hole about 1”. Now pull the ends of the ribbon through the loop you’ve created and pull tight. Repeat with the bottom left hole. Trim ends of ribbon as desired. Write a greeting at the bottom center.
- For the Dicrofiber: Pull strands of pink, periwinkle, and mint fibers and arrange together on the parchment paper included in the kit. Fold the parchment over to contain the fibers. Using the silk (low) setting, iron over the top of the parchment for 2-5 seconds (shorter for looser fiber, longer for more matted/solid fiber). Glue the fiber mat to the center of the card front and trim excess with scissors. Apply glue stick to the card first, then place your fiber mat and press down. Stamp three Love Trees and two hearts on your mat with the two side trees going off the card.
- For the inside: Cut a 2 ½” strip of pink diamond paper and glue it centered vertically. Take one of the trimmed edges of your Dicrofiber mat and glue to the top.
