Instructions:
- For the card front: Turn the card with the fold at the top. Cut dark green cardstock to cover the front, but don't glue it yet. Cut a 6¼"x4¾" green swirls paper, positioning the corner design at the upper left. Glue centered on the cardstock. Insert gold mini brads to secure a metal loop on each side edge, 1½" from the lower edge. Tie green gingham ribbon between the loops, leaving 1½" tails. Glue the constructed front to the card.
- Trace and cut out the gingerbread boy pattern. Cut a 5 5/8"x1½" brown ornaments paper. Mark every 1 1/8", then accordion-fold the paper on those lines. Trace the gingerbread boy onto the top layer, positioning the ends of the arms and legs on the folds.
- Cut through all the layers, making sure to preserve the folds on the arms and legs. Unfold the string of gingerbread boys. Ink the edges then draw the face and hair curl on each figure. Glue across the card as shown, allowing it to “bump up” in places. Tuck tiny pieces of foam tape behind the raised areas to help retain the shape. Tie five shoestring bows with thread and use a toothpick to apply glue on each knot. Glue one bow on each boy. Stamp “celebrate” at the lower right.
- For the inside: Cut a 4¾"x3" red tapestry paper and ink the edges. Cut a 4¼"x3¼" green swirls paper, positioning the remainder of the swirl from the front at the lower right. Stamp “merry Christmas” at the upper left, ½" from the left edge. Trim away the paper above the word, cutting around the holly leaves. Ink the edges and glue centered on the red paper. Follow the instructions in steps 2 and 3 to create another string of gingerbread boys, making it three boys long. Glue as shown.
