Tip: Use the Tonic Border System guides set to 3.5 cm on each side of the Doily Edger Punch. Begin by punching the center of the cardstock and then line up the guard with the outer edge of the punched image. Repeat several times and then move to the opposite side of the first punched image. (I like to stop punching before I reach the end of the cardstock so that the bottom, nearly punched away edge stays in place. The bottom edge acts as a guide while punching the butterfly accents. When accents are complete I finish the Edger punching on the ends to remove the bottom of the cardstock) Switch out the punches for the Butterfly Accent punch. Use the guards to help align the punched Butterflies centered on each Doily edge.
Instructions:
- Border: Punch the Doily Edger along the edge of the purple dot cardstock. Center the Butterfly Accent on each Doily punched image. Cut the purple into a 11” x 1 ½” wide strip and mat it with a cream punched Doily Edger leaving a 1/8” wide border. Punch a 1/16” wide hole between each purple Doily Edger and secure a pink mini brad. Glue the border ¾” from the left edge of the of the pink circle paper. Glue a ¾”x 12” strip of striped paper along the right edge of the border.
- Mat: Punch the short edges on a 7 ¾” x 10 ¾” rectangle of purple dot cardstock with the Doily Edger. Mat with cream cardstock, leaving a 1/8” border. Punch 1/16” holes between the Doily images and secure pink mini brads. Mat two 6”x4” photos with pink cardstock, leaving 1/8” wide borders. Glue to the center of the mat, ¼” apart. Glue the mat to the right of the border.
- Journaling: Write journaling on cream paper and punch with the 2 1/8” circle punch. Punch a circle from the pink circle paper. Punch the Butterfly Accent on the lower half and cut the circle in half. Glue to the bottom edge of the cream circle. Glue a length of lavender gingham ribbon over the seam between the 2 papers and trim even with the circle edges. Glue a gingham bow to the left side and then glue the circle to the center of a punch pink scalloped circle. Foam tape the scallop to the left side of the photo mat.
- Butterflies: Punch 2 embossed pink butterflies and line the wings with cream paper. Bend the wings up. Glue to the lower left and upper right and use foam tape under the wings to keep them lifted.
