I vaguely remember learning "how-to" from the CAROL DUVALL SHOW sp, that will tell some how long ago! I was SO HAPPY to get a refresher and Completely Ecstatic about the template. Like Sue, I also like the uniform shapes the template gives too... It's in my cart at this minute! As a cardmaker, how can I leave w/out giving "Props" to Ann!!

I remember making these paper beads 50 yrs. ago using wall paper from wallpaper books. I used long skinny knitting needles and would make several at a time by pushing them up on the needle.I used the old musalege glue. They sold like crazy at grange fairs.

What a lovely project! Besides making pretty cards and jewelry, you could use the beads to make lovely "bead curtains" for your bedroom doorway too!

Speaking of Aleene's--it was on her show(many years ago) that I first saw how to make paper beads. There was no template so now they are easier. Thanks for that.

If you look back in many very old crafting magazines you will find the ads for a small hand crank machine that was used to make these beads. So nice to see the "old crafts" coming back!

Would love to know how Kyla (sp?) made her necklaces...is that string?
Reply from Paper Wishes Customer Service:
Kyla made her necklaces with Sparklers Color Infusions Threads, they come in a variety of colors and look great with paper beads! You can see all the colors at PaperWishes.com--bet you figured that out though!

It is far easier to do if you use a quiling tool

My grandaughter did a project for school called "Junk mail jewelry". Everyone loved it, teachers included! Needless to say she got an "A", and this is a must have for her. She'll love it!

The bracelet instructions are on the necklace too - instead of the necklace - there are no instructions for Ann's cards, pages???

Thank you for letting us know. December fixed the directions for you.

I have this template and have hesitated trying it. Now that I've seen how easy it is, and how beautiful the end result is, I can't wait to go home and play!

Hiya , i made lots of these beads just before Christmas, and made them up into necklaces, bracelets, and earings, as presents for family and friends they loved them and couldnt believe they were made from paper .
I made them from Christmas wrapping paper , newspaper, magazines, anything i had to hand , i sealed them with glittered and ,coloured nail varnish . I even sold some at the church coffee morning , i only took them to show a friend but when others saw them they wanted to buy them , i couldnt believe it . I didnt have a template i just tore paper and rolled till i got the shape i wanted , think i will get template so i can get uniform shapes , looks a lot better .

Cool! I remember making little beads eons (seriously) ago. I took the shiny pages from magazines that had large portions of color and used them. I may even have the earrings around here somewhere. (I didn't have a template THEN!) :)
