I WAS JUST WATCHING THIS AS I AM NEW TO YOUR WEBISODES. ON THE SARA BINDER WHERE IT HAS BEEN PAINTED ORANGE JUST LOOKS "FLAT" AGAINST THE OTHER COLORS. CAN YOU USE MODG POGE TO MAKE IT LOOK GLOSSY AND NOT AS FLAT LOOKING. OUR WOULD YOU USE ANOTHER MEDIUM TO MAKE THE PAINT NOT SO FLAT LOOKING-I LIKE IT BEING PAINTED, BUT JUST WANT IT TO STAND OUT A LITTLE MORE OR "POP" WITH THE CITRUS COLORS.
ANY IDEAS WOULD BE HELPFUL. THANKS...MIKE

Hi Mike!

Yes, you can use Mod Podge on the binder after you’ve painted it (or, even instead of painting it). The binder itself is really sturdy, and can take multiple layers—as long as it’s not saturated. I’d recommend doing two coats of paint, letting each one dry between coating, then applying a thin layer of Mod Podge. MP does come in both matte and glossy—even the matte version will give a nice shine to it.

You probably already thought of this but just in case—when painting a binder, I generally paint the front and back (but not the edges) while holding the binder by the spine, then let it dry while it’s sitting like a tee-pee. (This is why I don’t paint the edges, so they don’t stick to the scrap paper.) I generally use a foam brush, since it’s easier to get in the little dips and corners, when painting the inside of the binder.

Hope this helps, and enjoy creating your binder! Hope you have a great day and thanks for watching.

Sara
