Birthday Wishes!
Project: Decorated Mini Folder
Supplies:
- Sara's Surfaces(tm) Mini Folders
- Birthday Finished in a Flash!(tm)
- white cardstock
- black ink pad
- foam tape
Instructions:
1) Outside surface: Cover the outside surface with red paper, placing the circles and stripes border even with the bottom edge. 
2) Inside surface: Cover the inside surface with red texture paper. Cover the pocket flaps with yellow circles paper.
3) For the front surface: Glue a green star punch-out and attach a candle Brad Buddy(tm) in the bottom right corner of the front of the folder. Add a red mini brad to each end of the "Birthday Wishes!" punch-out. Lay a 20" blue ribbon length across the front of the folder. Foam tape the "Birthday Wishes!" punch-out over the ribbon to hold it in  place.
4) For the inside pockets: Fold up the pocket flaps and glue them in place. Glue a green star punch-out in the bottom left corner of the left pocket. Foam tape a "happy birthday" punch-out in the bottom right corner of the right pocket. 
5) Computer journal birthday wishes on white cardstock and ink the edges. Mat on orange and lime texture papers and accent with candle brads. Add a ribbon tab to the top of each, then insert into the pockets.
6) Fold the folder in half and wrap the ribbon around, tying the tails together to hold the folder closed.


A Trip to Remember 
Project: Decorated Mini Folder

- 2"x6" Acrylic Block
- black pen
- black ink pad
- foam tape
Instructions:
1) Outside Surface: Glue the back of one folder to the front of another to form a mini book. Cover the front of the book with a 4"x5 1/2" photo. Cover the back of the book with red bordered paper, wrapping about 1" of the striped border around the fold and onto the front of the book.
2) Add a star brad to each end of the "a trip to remember" punch-out and foam tape it across the bottom of the book cover. Add a "fun" rub-on to a yellow balloon brad, then attach the brad in the top right corner of the book cover. 
3) Mat the star punch-out border on white cardstock and ink the edges, then glue across the bottom of the book's back cover. Stamp journaling lines and words on white cardstock. Ink the edges, then mat on lime texture paper and ink the edges. Glue centered on the book's back cover.
4) Inside surface: Ink the edges of four 3 3/4"x5 1/4" pieces of texture paper: Blue, yellow, lime and red. Glue the papers to the inside panels. Cover the pocket flaps with the same papers and ink the edges. Fold up the pocket flaps and glue in place.
5) Stamp four sets of journaling lines with words on white cardstock and ink the edges. Mat each on texture paper, ink the edges and glue to the pocket flaps.
6) Foam tape tab punch-outs to the right pages. 
7) Double-mat four photos on texture paper, then white cardstock, inking the edges of all the mats. Slip the photos into the book pockets.

- acrylic paint: Light brown, dark brown & white

Instructions:
1) Surface: Paint the outside and inside surfaces of the folder, plus the pocket flaps, light brown; let dry. Use a toothbrush to spatter dark brown and white paint over the surface; let dry.
2) Inside panels: Cover two inside panels with brown striped paper and the other two with brown flourish paper. Fold up the pocket flaps and glue in place. 
3) Place the folder with the closure flap on the left. Ink the edges of light brown, black and white monograms to spell "grad". Add three dark brown mini brads to the "G" and glue it to the first panel. Zot(tm) a knot of black grosgrain ribbon to the "G". Glue a small piece of brown striped paper to the left side of the "R". Add a light brown mini brad above and below the paper, then glue the "R" to the first pocket. Glue a strip of brown flourish paper down the right side of the "A". Accent with a white brad, then glue the "A"  to the second panel. Glue a small piece of brown striped paper to the left side of the "D". Add a dark brown brad above and below the paper, then glue the "D" to the second pocket.
4) Computer journal four quotes on white cardstock and ink the edges of each. Glue one quote above the "A" and one above the "D", then tuck the remaining two in the '"R" pocket.
5) Closure: Wrap a 3/4"-wide strip of dark brown paper around the closed folder, gluing together the overlapping ends. Computer journal "Congratulations, Graduate!" on white cardstock, ink the edges and glue to the strip. Zot(tm) a knot of black ribbon to the left of the journaling. 

My Little Book of Quotes
Project: Decorated 4-Fold Folder

- white embroidery floss
- lime ink pad
- fine-grade sandpaper or emery board
- foam tape
- small Zots(tm)
Instructions:
1) Surface: Cover the closure flap and the back panel of the folder with lime texture paper. Cover the adjoining black panel with lime words paper. Attach a silk flower to the bottom of the closure flap with a yellow brad. Add another yellow brad to the lime words flap, 5/8" below the other brad (when the folder is folded). Cover the inside of the closure flap and the adjoining panel with pink striped paper. Cover all the remaining panels, plus the pocket flaps with various papers. Sand the edges of all the panels and flaps.
2) Computer journal 10 quotes on white cardstock and ink the edges of each. Mat on various papers, then glue to the panels and pocket flaps.
3) Accent the pockets and flaps with wrapped ribbon and bows. Add mini brads to the center of silk flowers and Zot(tm) them throughout. 
4) Fold up the folder and run embroidery floss between the two brads on the outside surface to close. Computer journal "My Little Book of Quotes" on white cardstock and ink the edges. Mat on pink texture paper. Add a mini brad to one end and a flower and mini brad to the other, then foam tape in the bottom right corner of the folder's front cover.


Missing You This Christmas
Project: Decorated 4-Fold Folder

- red heart mini brads
- brown cardstock

Instructions:
1) Surface: Ink the folds of the folder brown. Cover the front of the closure flap  and the two adjoining back panels with red texture paper. Cover the back of the closure flap with red fleur de lis paper. Stamp swirls in brown on the front of the closure flap.
2) Place the folder with the closure flap on the left. Glue a photo to the 1st and 3rd panels and cover the 2nd and 4th panels with red fleur de lis paper. Stamp swirls and words on the photos in red and brown. Ink the pocket panels brown and stamp red words and brown swirls on them. Fold up the pockets and glue in place, then accent with red bows and heart brads. Cover the remaining back panels with photos, then stamp swirls and words on them.
3) Computer journal four blocks on parchment paper, then mat on brown cardstock. Staple folded ribbons behind the top of the journaling, then slip into the pockets.
4) Computer journal "Missing You This Christmas" on parchment paper and mat on brown cardstock. Add a heart brad to each end, then foam tape in the bottom right corner of the front of the folder. Tie gingham ribbon around to close.
