Designer Tips: Spectrum Pens are alcohol inks in pen form, which gives you much more control over where colors are placed. When mixed with Alcohol Blending solution you will get a wonderful Tie Dyed look when used on parchment paper. I prefer parchment paper (pergamono paper) over vellum because vellum in thin and warps more easily.
Instructions:
- Cut a 4½” x 6¼” rectangle of parchment paper and randomly apply marks of blue #68 Tourq) and green (163 Green Bice) all over the parchment. Inject alcohol Bending Solution into the felt pad and pounch the pad over the pen color, allowing them to bleed into one another. Let dry thoroughly and glue to the center of the card. Stamp “Sweets” at the top left in black ink.
- Mat the long edges of a 5”x 2 ¾” striped paper, with black glimmer paper, leaving a 1/16” wide border. Glue across the card, ¾” from the card bottom. Glue a length of grosgrain ribbon across the center. Stamp the birdhouse image onto 2½”x 3 3/4” white cardstock. Stamp a bird at the upper right corner. Outline the roof with color 68 turquoise and fill in with color 65 ice blue. Color in bird wing and dots with 68 turquoise. Outline house with 163 Green Bice. Color in with 48 yellow green.
- Create border around cardstock edges with pen. Mat rectangle with glimmer paper, leaving a 1/8” border. Glue to the left side of the order. Hold 4” lengths of both ribbons together and knot. Trim the tails to 1 1/4” long and glue to the left side of the rectangle.
- Inside: Glue a ¼”x 6½” stripe, 1/8” from the right edge of the card inside back. Stamp a small birdhouse to the left. Stamp “Tweet” and a swirl to the left. Outline house with 68 Turquoise and color in with 65 Ice blue.
