Embossed Metal Card
By LeNae Gerig
LeNae's Tip: Use the different sizes of stylus heads to reach the tight corners on the stencil.
- Place the metal face down over a spongy surface, like craft foam or a mouse pad. Place the stencil over the metal. Emboss with the stylus and then cut out the triangle with scissors. Lightly sand the red embossed side and glue to the corner of tan textured paper, leaving a 1/16 wide border on 2 sides (the point) and 5/8 on what will be the top of the triangle.
- Cut the card to 4x6 1/2 and cover with red textured paper. Cut a 5 3/4 tan floral rectangle and ink the edges black. Glue to the center of the card. Fold the 5/8 border on the triangle back to make a flap. Glue the fold to the top back and trim excess from the sides.
- Cut a 4x1 3/4 textured tan border and ink the edges. Mat with red, leaving a 1/16 wide border. Glue across the card front, slightly over the tip of the triangle flap, holding it in place. Stamp Best Wishes at the lower right corner.
- Inside the card: Cover the inside back with tan floral paper and glue a 1 3/4 red strip near the bottom. Glue the red rose circle tag over the strip and punch a hole to secure the mini black brad. Close the card, wrap with red ribbon and thread the oval rose tan onto the ribbon. Tie a bow.
