  1. Use the light blue snowflake paper as the background. Mat a horizontal and a vertical photo on dark blue textured papers, trimming the mats to 3/16". Mat again on white cardstock, trim the mats to 3/16" and ink the edges.
  2. Glue the horizontal photo on the left side of the page and add the "snow day" tab along the top edge. Computer journal the month and year onto white cardstock, crop and ink the edges. Glue even with the left edge of the photo to create a tab.
  3. Glue the vertical photo over the right side of the page, overlapping the first photo. Attach the snowman tile with glue stick and the circular snowflake tile with foam tape over the bottom right corner of the photo. Run a thin strip of white cardstock through the holes on a medium mauve button. Attach the button over the top left edge of the photo with a Glue Dot™.
  4. Computer journal onto white cardstock and crop to a long rectangle with 1 1/2" of extra space to the left of the journaling. Ink the edges, then mat on dark blue paper, trim the mat to 1/8" and ink the edges. Glue the journaling under the horizontal photo and use foam tape to attach the artwork tile over the extra space next to the journaling.
  5. Ink the edges of the border and glue it 7/8" from the top of the page. Add the word "play" centered across the border:
    • For the "P": Punch two holes in the chipboard letter and add a light blue mini brad to each hole. Glue the letter over a small light blue textured tag and add a pewter snowflake to the top of the tag.
    • For the "L": Cover the chipboard letter with dark blue textured paper and ink the edges. Cover a circular slide mount with snowflake dots paper and ink the edges. Add a square of aqua textured paper behind the slide mount window, then wrap a length of aqua grosgrain ribbon across the front of the slide mount. Wrap the ends of the ribbon around the edges to secure on the back of the slide mount and add two mauve mini brads to the ribbon on the front of the slide mount. Glue the "L" centered over the slide mount window.
    • For the "A": Attach with a snowflake brad in the center
    • For the "Y": Knot a length of aqua grosgrain ribbon around the base and attach it to a small light blue textured tag.

A tip from LeNae: Chipboard letters are great for any paper craft, and they're especially eye-catching when altered! I added style, color and personality to the title on this wintry layout by simply adding brads and ribbons to basic white chipboard letters. You might also try inking or sanding the edges for a cool distressed look. Another tip? I totally changed the appearance of one of these chipboard letters by covering it with paper! To cover any chipboard piece with paper, just apply glue stick to the front of the chipboard and adhere to the backside of the paper. Place the chipboard face down on a cutting surface and trace around the edges with a craft knife to remove the excess paper.
