Designer Tip: To open the pocket watch, first inspect the edge of the round back of the watch until you see the slight notch, which is the pry area. Use a tiny screwdriver (such as a tool for repairing eyeglasses) to pry off the back.

  1. 1) Remove the glass face of the watch. Clean the surface of the glass front with alcohol and dry with a paper towel. Remove the large round sticker near the center of the Dazzles sheet and carefully place it centered on the glass front of the pocket watch. Smooth the sticker with a clean paper towel, pressing firmly at the edges near the metal to make sure the sticker is well-adhered.
  2. 2) Apply the etching cream with the paint brush over the glass and sticker, in a thick layer. Wait 10 minutes, then rinse well with water, being careful not to disturb the sticker. Dry gently with a paper towel, then repeat with the etching cream for 10 minutes. Rinse, then remove the sticker from the glass. Dry the glass with a paper towel.
  3. 3) Punch a 1 11/16" circle from dictionary paper. Add a clock face sticker centered on the punched circle and glue to the inside of the back of the pocket watch. Place the front etched glass piece over the back and press them back together. Tie ribbon at the top.
