Suitcase Step Card
By Gail Booth
Designer Tip: Add a little color to the silver suitcases with Spectrum Noir™ pens, then “stack” the cases for a pile of luggage!
- Card front: Place a blank Triple Step die-cut card with the fold and steps on the left. Use the paper patterns to cut a front panel from Roses & Lace dark grey paper, then color the suitcase stamp with pen DG4 and stamp a border of luggage on the lower section. Stamp the suitcase on the upper section at angles. Place thin lines Dazzles™ at the top, bottom and center of the piece, as shown. Mat on light green paper, then on dark grey with 1/16” borders. Glue onto your card front. Remove the adhesive backing from a 5” length of lace tape and place 3/8” from the bottom. Cut a center step panel from medium green paper, mat on grey with a 1/16” border and glue in place. Cut a top step panel from light green paper, mat on grey with a 1/16” border and glue in place. Place Thin Lines Dazzles™ ¼” the top of each step.
- Use VersaMark™ to stamp the suitcase on Silver Linen paper, four times. Dust with black embossing powder, shake off the excess and set with the heat gun. Cut out each stamped image and use pens DG4 and CG2 to color in the edges. Use pen JG6 to color in some of the details. Foam tape the luggage in place on the front panel and the steps, as shown.
- Stamp and emboss “Greetings” onto three 2¼”x5/8” silver linen papers with a “v” at the right end. Mat each on light green paper with 1/16” borders. Fold over a short length of the lace tape and Zot™ under the left end of each banner. Foam tape the banners in place, as shown.
