Copper Heart Card
By Gail Booth
Designer Tip: Painting across the embossed heart, then sanding the raised image gives a defined metal appearance.
- Card front: Open a blank Center Step card and place inside down on a craft sheet. Spray the front panel lightly with Gold glimmer mist, then let dry. If the card warps, you can place a book on it for a while to flatten. Close your card and place with the fold on top.
- Place 6 "x3" holographic paper on the craft sheet and brush across the entire piece with distress paint. Use a damp paper towel to lightly swipe across the piece and allow some of the holographic design to show through. Let dry. Cut the following pieces from the painted paper: one 6 "x3/4" piece, and two "x3 " pieces. Mat each piece on suede with a 1/16" border and glue onto the side panels and along the bottom of your card front, as shown.
- Place 6"x4 " holographic paper in the Large Pretty Heart embossing folder and follow your die-cutting machine manufacturer's instructions to emboss the piece. Place the embossed piece on the craft sheet and repeat the painting process as in step-2. Let dry. Sand the raised areas of the embossed heart until some of the silver and some of the white core shows through. Cut out the heart image, leaving a 1/16" border. Mat on suede with a 1/16" border and glue onto the center card panel, above the lower strip.
- Place Jewel Dazzles on the heart and around it and on each end of the lower strip. Place "Thank You" Dazzles on the left side of the lower strip and Zot on a bow of brown crepe with "v" cut ends, as shown.
