Thankful for You
By Susan Cobb
Designer Tip: I stamped and embossed 3 Pretty Mum images, trimmed off the leaves, and added metal embossed leaves for extra dimension and texture.
- Cover the card with gray patterned paper. Cut a 5"x5/8" striped paper and ink the edges black. Glue across the bottom of the card. Ink the edges of the card black. Cut a 3 3/4" square from aqua gingham paper and ink the edges. Mat on pink, then dark yellow gingham paper and glue on the card even with the right side. Stamp "Thankful for you" on the lower left edge of the aqua paper with black ink.
- Stamp the Pretty Mum image 3 times on white cardstock with the VersaMark ink. Sprinkle with metallic copper glitter embossing powder and emboss with the heat gun. Take one embossed mum and trim around the edges, cutting away the leaves but leaving the swirls intact. For the remaining 2 mums, trim around the blossoms, cutting away the leaves and swirls on both. Use the wet paintbrush to obtain some color from the #250 pencil and apply it to the embossed mums for a light wash of color. Let dry.
- Zot the metal leaves in place and foam tape the flowers overlapping in a cluster as shown. Place Copper Jewel Border Dazzles at the paper edges as shown. Use 1/2" wide pink grosgrain ribbon to tie a bow. Zot the bow in place.
