About the Card
Technique: Valentines Day Card
Style: Lattice Fold
Designer: Susan Cobb
Susans Tip: Here I used the Lattice Template on the fold of the card for a lacy bordered effect. The black ribbon and gold love charm and brads complement the red, black and white color scheme.
- Place the bottom template design along the edge of the card fold and mark the lines with a pencil. Remove the template and cut along the lines with scissors. Open the card out flat with the inside down. Fold down the cut chevrons of the lattice design. Close the card, then trim 1/2 from the long opening edge of the card front only.
- Cut two 4 x 6 1/2 pieces of onyx glimmer paper. Glue one to the card front, even with the right edge. Set the remaining piece aside for the inside. Cut a 3 7/8 x 6 1/2 piece of red/black text paper and glue to the center of the onyx glimmer on the card front.
- Cut out the quote pieces and mat on glimmer. Wrap the larger piece with ribbon at one corner and secure with a brad. Add brads to other pieces as shown. Glue a 4 length of black ribbon across the center of the card front. Cut out the tag and mat on glimmer. Add small word ribbons and bow at the top, then glue to the ribbon on the card front. Glue quote pieces in place, then glue love medallion as shown.
- Glue the second 4 x 6 1/2 piece of glimmer paper to the inside, about 1/2 from the right opening edge. Cut a 3 7/8 x 6 1/2 piece of red blotches paper and glue to the center of the glimmer paper on the inside. Glue a 4 length of ribbon across the center, then add tag, bow, I love you paper ribbon and brad as shown.
