Greetings crafting friends!

Have you peeked at the NEW 2014 Winter Paper Wishes® Catalog??  You are in for a complete treat, as you’ll find soo many wonderful goodies, products, projects and techniques! 444 NEW Items and 376 Ideas!

This week I’d like to highlight some NEW Templates & Stencil along with some fabulous projects from the design team at Hot Off The Press! I’ll be featuring Lovely Template, Flower Medley Stencil, Bloom Template! Our designers have used them in so many creative ways, making each template soooo versatile! Sure to inspire your creative spirit!

Susan Cobb & Gail Booth, have used the templates & stencils with a variety of techniques including inks, sprays, embossing paste, crackle embossing paste, distress inks and more! Below are some scrapbooking pages and hand made cards that Susan & Gail created to show you different ways that these handy tools can be used!

The Projects…

Gail made this striking card using the Colorbox Lovely 6″x6″ Template. She used a combination of embossing pastes, and distress inks to create this one of a kind card. You can find instructions here.

A little tip: You can use these templates and stencil for card making, scrapbooking and more! They may be small but they are a mighty tool!  Plus they aren’t  just for small areas, you can create all over patterns.

Have you noticed that Mixed Media is EVERYWHERE! On cards, scrapbook pages, mini albums…everywhere! Below are a few examples of a Mixed Media Scrapbook page along with a card. You can also join us each week for Weekly Webisodes! We might being featuring a webisode on Mixed Media! So stay tuned!!

Susan created this amazing scrapbook page by using the 5″x8″ Flower Medley Dylusions Stencil, and white embossing paste on pattern paper. Then sprayed it with  Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions Spray Ink. The results really pop on our Robin’s Red paper. You can find instructions here.

Susan used the same technique to and visual interest to this card. Same technique, just in a smaller area! Wouldn’t this card be such a lovely surprise to receive in the mail?  If you would like to make this card look here for instructions.

Gail used the ColorBox  Bloom 6″x6″ Template to make this dramatic floral card using copper embossing paste. Easy to make and with impressive results you’ll definitely want to make this card. You can find product and instructions needed here.

Brand New Additions to Our Blog!

We are so excited to bring you some new features to our blog. We will have project ideas, color inspirations, new techniques and much more! My name is Amy Hurley-Purdie and I’m a new designer at HOTP, and could not be more excited about sharing time with all our wonderful friends (that’s YOU!) on this blogging adventure. First a little bit about who I am and what I do. I am a wife and mother to 9 children, some of brought into this world and some I’ve been blessed with the gift of becoming their mother. Mother to many, wife to one and friend to all : ) I’ve been a designer in the scrapbooking and card industry for 16 years. I love art and creating. I love sharing that love with others. I’m a bold, sophisticated vintage gal with a note of sassy and crazy. And a pinch of Geek! I love ALL THINGS paper crafting, and my favorite thing about this hobby is that it is a hobby where strangers can come together and share their crafting stash freely, and uplift one another with encouragement through their love of art! Crafters are the best!!!

Here are some of my favorite projects that I’ve worked on lately . . .

I LOVE our new Fancy Feathers paper pack. It is so bright and beautiful with lots of jewel tone colors and whimsical feathers. I used the We-r Memory Keeper Gift Box Punch Board to create this adorable box. The  rhinestones eternal swirl  and Gold Pearl Feather Dazzles™ really finish it off. (instructions)

I am so excited about our new Love & 5 hearts cutting die. It is really versatile and you can create lots of different designs with it. I also used Simply Susan paper pack and Heart to Heart Greetings Stamp Set.  (instructions card 1 & card 2 )

Here we have the front and inside of a card I did using the Grapefruit Paper pack, Smart and Sassy Sayings Stamp, 3 Lacy Labels Cutting Die, Bodacious Blooms cutting die (don’t even get me started about how fabulous this cutting die is!!!) and of course the Mixed Media Doll Stamp #8. I love how bright it turned out and of course it’s about one of my favorite subjects SHOES! (instructions)

Well that’s a small tidbit about me, and I can’t wait to hear more about all of your favorites too.

I look forward to blog about our shared passion in paper crafting.
