Shaker Cards

Hi everyone! I have some sweet shaker cards for you today!

Our friends at Creative Expressions brought us this darling Fairy Snow Globe Scene Cutting Die Set, Snow Globe Cutting Die Set and finally the cut Domed Treat Cups that are perfect for sequins, beads or candy!

For the card I used Illuminate Paper Pack, Embellishment Bottle and Ribbon Set.  I die cut the fairy scene from Purple Triple Finish and the globe from Silver Triple Finish Self Adhesive Papers, then used Gold Tiny Words & Phrases Dazzles™ for the “Happy Birthday” greeting.

Here’s a fun card using only the Snow Globe Cutting Die Set and Domed Treat Cups. To create the card I covered a Center Step Die-Cut Card with Blue Circles and Green Circles Holographic Papers

To make the dome opening I traced the inside of the globe opening (from the cutting die) onto the card inside back and used scissors to cut it out. Then I used Extra Sticky Tape to secure the dome into place and added candy.

Then I backed an Octopus Hugs Dazzles™ Sticker with Blue Circles Holographic Paper and foam taped the cute octopus onto Green Circles Holographic Paper and taped it to cover the dome edges on the inside of the card (with the octopus now centered inside the dome).

Now to finish the outside of the card I used the Snow Globe Cutting Die and Stencil Tape to die cut the globe and base from Pewter Triple Finish Self Adhesive Papers. I peeled the backing from the self adhesive paper and placed the snow globe base around the dome.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you give shaker cards a try. They are so fun to make and receive! Happy crafting!

I love making shaker cards and yours is cute and beautiful with those circle papers! I never thought of putting candy in a shaker. I think it’s a great idea and I’m going to try it. Thanks for another great idea LeNae!

Cute….I love that octopus. It is such a cute card. But I have a son that is a former sailor.. I’m making a scrapbook of his life and will include his navy days. I’m going to sit one of those octopi on the bow of one of his ships to lead the way!

I love your cards. I have been making a ton of shaker cards recently for small nieces and nephews. They love the treats that I put inside too. The older ones love the sparkle and shine from the glitter and sequins. So many ideas! So little time!
