Hi crafty friends, as I gear up for the holidays I’ve put together a few ideas for using a simple, everyday item: White Paper Bags.
This extra large snowflake was made with 8 large White Paper Bags and it was so easy to make. Here’s how to make your own.
Stack 8 bags, making sure they are all facing the same direction.
Use hot glue to draw an upside down “T” shape on the surface of each bag to glue them together.
Make the cuts as shown through the bag layers. I cut the top layers first and then worked my way down.
Open the layers and carefully pull them apart.
To secure the open edges permanently, place dots of hot glue along the inside edge. If you want to reuse the snowflake then secure with white paper clips instead of glue.
To hang, use a 1/8” hole punch near a point and thread with fishing line.
I like to hang my snowflakes in odd numbers and at different lengths.
Three extra large snowflakes take a total of 24 White Paper Bags to make.
I used Winter Window Cutting Die to make luminaries!
I placed the cutting (die face up) on the inside of the bag and then ran it through my die cutting machine.
They are beautiful lined up on a (dry) winder night. I recommend using battery operated tea lights.
Use Christmas Lace Die-Cuts to decorate bags for gifts and treats!
Thanks for joining me today. Come back on Thursday for Christmas cards with moveable parts. Happy crafting!
