Charleston Valentine & NEW Dazzles™ Stickers

Hi everyone! Today I would like to introduce you to The Charleston Paper Pack Collection.

The vintage collection, inspired by the Roaring 20’s, is both unique and versatile!

I made, what I think, is a masculine Valentine using Heart Window Flap Die-Cut Card, The Charleston Paper Pack, The Charleston Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers, Ribbon Set, Letterpress Paper Tole and the Farmhouse Embellishment Bottle.

Debbie made this amazing “Date Night” scrapbook page using The Charleston Paper Pack, The Charleston Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers and Letterpress Paper Tole. I love how she cut away the paper at the top left and slipped the photo mat underneath!

Each Hot Off The Press Paper Pack comes with a FREE digital download of wonderful coordinating art for your projects.

And I don’t want to forget New Dazzles™ Stickers from Hot Off The Press, featured in Paper Wishes NEW 2018 Winter Catalog! The Cactus Dazzles™ Stickers make me smile!

Don’t forget that paper crafting is a sure way to chase away the winter blues. So make something pretty today! Happy Crafting!

Ruby Rose Valentine Cards & More

Hi everyone! It’s a New Year and that means NEW Hot Off The Press Paper Packs!

Ruby Rose Paper Pack is one of my favorites! And it’s perfect for Valentine cards.

I love cards that are interactive; this card has a fun feature with the small heart moving inside the large heart frame. This Interlocking Hearts Die-Cut card (and matching envelope) not only include Ruby Rose Paper Pack and Ribbons, but also Loved Dazzles™ Stickers, Chantilly Blush Flowers and Ruby Rose Embellishment Bottle, an exclusive set just for Paper Wishes!

Susan made this adorable Valentine using Ruby Rose Paper, Ribbons, Embellishment Bottle, Chantilly Blush Flowers, Easy Vintage Labels Template and BoBunny Heart Wood Shapes. She even used Antique Shades Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Watercolor Palette to color in the Loved Dazzles™ Sticker letters. So cute!

I love this page! It uses the same Ruby Rose Collection as the cards, but Susan added Silver Chrome Glitter Kiss to the BoBunny Heart Wood Shapes. So sparkly!

Don’t forget each Hot Off The Press Paper Pack comes with a FREE Digital Download of beautiful coordinating art for your paper crafting projects!

Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting in the New Year!

Paper Wishes 2017 Best Sellers & Favorite Things

Hi everyone! As 2017 comes to an end I thought I would share with you the products our customers and friends made our BEST SELLERS at Paper Wishes!

If you’re a stamper, then you know all about the wonderfulness of Stamping Platforms. I know they are a MUST-HAVE for me! I can’t even remember what I did before I had one.

The only difference between the Misti Stamping Tool and the Mini Misti Stamping Tool is the size and, of course, the price. If you like to only make cards then the Mini Misti may be for you. If you like a larger format to stamp other types of paper crafts then both the Misti and Tim Holtz Stamping Platform are perfect for you. All of these are among Paper Wishes best sellers for 2017!

The Misti Stamping Tool also has a Studio Bag (purchased separately) that is perfect for storage and stamping on the go!

Paper Wishes will have the New Tim Holtz Protective Sleeve in our Winter Catalog, available December 30!

If so many of you are using the Stamping Platforms you’re going to need fabulous stamps too. Another of 2017 top sellers is Hot Off The Press’s the Botanical Butterflies Stamps and Cutting Dies are just right for so many occasions and we show you just how to use them in the Botanical Butterflies Webisode.

Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Kiss may be my MOST favorite product of 2017. It’s so easy to use (the applicator sponge is built right in!), easy to clean up and the colors are vibrant! Susan also used a Dahlia Stencil to make this amazing card. See this card and other great techniques on our Glitter Kiss Webisode.

As you would expect Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pads are another versatile favorite this year and were also among our top sellers! For this card, I used both Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain sponged on the paper and then stamped the Watercolor Roses image using only water to leave a water mark impression. We have a great Distress Oxide Webisode featuring these remarkable inks and I encourage you to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by and from all of us a Paper Wishes have a safe and Happy New Year!

Steampunk Pop-Up Box

Hello everyone! Recently my daughter created a Steampunk Fairy costume for a 4-H Fashion Show. The look included a skirt and blouse, which she sewed herself, a cinched waste belt, swashbuckling boots and, of course, jet pack fairy wings. She was asked several times, “What is Steampunk?” She explained that Steampunk is a science fiction fantasy genera, where the Victorian Era has elements of technology that shouldn’t have existed at that time. It’s just fun!

With all of that Steampunk energy at our house, you can imagine how excited she was when she saw what I was making last night!

Crafter’s Companion Time Traveller Stamp Collection by Sheena Douglass is fun and versatile to work with. I loved coloring the Time Machine balloon stamp using blue and green pens from Lights Spectrum Noir™ Pens Set. I covered the Pop-Up Box Die-Cut Card with Steampunk Paper Pack and added a bow from Steampunk Ribbon Set.

The Geared Up Stamp Set has assorted gears and sentiments that are perfect for Steampunk and masculine cards.

The Pop-Up Box comes with a sheet of acetate that you cut into strips and then adhere to the paper “beams” inside the box.

Add Happy Birthday Greetings Dazzles™ stickers and you’re all set!

That’s all for today! Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Faith Inspired Bible Tote & Card

Hi everyone! A few days ago I was browsing the goodies in our Paper Wishes buyer, Bethany’s, office (wouldn’t you?) when I found, what I thought was a beautiful purse. No? Not a purse. It was an AMAZING Creative Devotional Bible Tote from American Crafts and it immediately went on my Christmas List!

It has wonderful colors of cream and gold with this gorgeous aqua lining. Look at all of these pockets!

As you can see the tote is beautiful as is, but I thought “hey, it’s made of canvas; I wonder if I can color it?”

I sprinkled Indigo and Turquoise Ken Oliver Crafts Color Burst onto the canvas and used a Spritzer filled with water to mist the powder until it bled into this burst of color! I can’t wait to use mine and it would make a great gift too!

Remember you can recreate this technique with any light colored canvas purse or tote bag. Maybe it’s time to clean out those closets and refurbish some accessories?

This faith inspired card uses Song Birds Paper Pack, Ribbon Set, Prima’s Creating In Faith Mary Stamp and Spectrum Noir™ Pastels Pen Set. Don’t forget the sparkle with Grandma’s Roses Sequin Tin.

Prima’s Creating In Faith line of stamps features strong women from the Bible. They are so beautiful.

Here are some beautiful designs created by Prima.

Thanks for joining me today. Come back next week for some Steampunk inspiration. Happy crafting!

DIY Traveler’s Notebook

Hi everyone! Today I’m bringing you the Sizzix Scoreboard XL Journal Die. With this die I have the ability to make an unlimited number of hard cover journals, calendars, cookbooks, notebooks and so much more! A Traveler’s Notebook is one that is somewhat compact, has elastic or cord to tie it shut and it has inserts that can be divided into sections.

To make my notebook, I die cut 2 sheets of Paper Accents 8 1/2″x11″ White Chipboard and glued the spine together using Craft Tacky Glue.

After the glue dried I colored the spine and closure piece with Bronze ink from the Basics Cat’s Eye® Queue®.

I covered the front and back covers with Garden Walk Paper Pack and placed a border, words and butterflies from Garden Walk Scrapbooking Dazzles™ stickers.

I colored the butterflies with Turquoise and Pink Spectrum Noir™ Pens, blending darker shades with lighter shades.

I made 3 inserts for the notebook, cutting 12-15 sheets of simple copy paper (to cut down on the bulk and weight of the notebook) to 8″x 7 1/2″ and folding the pages in half. I decorated multiple pages (or you could do all of the pages) with Ferns 6″x6″ Stencil and 2 shades of green ink from Yellow/Green Cat’s Eye Queue Ink Pad Set.

I inked the page edges with the Bronze ink pad.

I made covers from Garden Walk Paper, cut to 8 1/4″x7 1/2″.

I used a 6′ length of twine (I used green Baker’s Twine) across the center of each paper section and through the holes in the notebook binding. (See the Journal Die product page for full instructions)

The final step involves threading both ends of the twine through the center hole in the center of the spine. I used a pencil to slide a knot flush with the spine.

For the closure, tie the die-cut closure piece to one of the twine tails and place on the open side of the book and knot in place. This piece will keep the twine from digging into the cover with wear.

The wonderful part of Traveler’s Notebooks is that they can be anything you want! And because you have the Sizzix Scoreboard XL Journal Die you can make them for family and friends. What great gifts!

I’m going to use one of my sections for Passwords because I can NEVER remember them!

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you have a great week and make time to make something pretty to share. Happy crafting!

Tim Holtz Inspired Christmas

I have to confess that I’m a Tim Holtz fan! He uses familiar and timeless elements in his designs, with an edge.

This Center Step Card features Tim Holtz Thin Slits Holiday Knit Dies, Burgundy, Navy and Moka Suede Papers. The texture of the suede, makes the card feel like a REAL Christmas sweater!  I also used Tim’s Tidings Design Tape, Holiday Script Words Dies and Dimensional Stars Die cut from Hammered Gold Paper. Some Natural Jute Twine for the bow adds to the rustic theme.

The Tim Holtz Christmas 8″x8″ Paper Stack has cute vintage designs that pair perfectly with the Gift Card Package Die!

I love how the lid lifts off to reveal a gift card! I used Tiny Christmas Words Dazzles™ Stickers on the tag and black/ivory gingham ribbon from Christmas Wonder Ribbon Set next to the “December 25” that I cut from the Tim Holtz Christmas 8″x8″  Paper Stack.

That’s all for today! Enjoy the holidays and make something pretty! Happy crafting!

Glass Etching For The Holidays

Hi everyone! Do you remember Glass Etching from years ago? I sure do…lots of it on mirrors for some reason. Today I’m bringing you a NEW and better version, just in time to brighten your holiday home!

This frosted glass method gives the impression of actual glass etching that you can do at home in less than half an hour!

This Christmas themed Rustic Window would look pretty hanging it a kitchen window and it’s so easy to do!

Place Christmas Wonder Dazzles™ Stickers on the glass, while still in the frame, in order to get the placement correct. It is very important that all of the stickers are adhered well and make contact with the glass, or etching cream can sneak underneath. Remove the glass from the frame.

After stirring, place a generous amount of Armour Etch Glass Etching Cream onto the glass, over the Dazzles™ stickers. The cream can leave patterns on the glass from application, therefore; try to avoid round swirling motions and instead apply the cream in straight lines across the glass. I found success by increasing the drying time to 10-15 minutes.

Place the glass in the sink and gently wash away the etching cream. Remove the Dazzles™ stickers and blot the glass dry with paper towels.

Place the glass inside the frame and fold the metal brackets down. For additional security, I used hot glue on the corners.

I glued Red Petaloo Botanica Blooms to the top of the window frame and loops of Red Velvet Shimmer Ribbon (Hooray! Now available in 10 yard lengths, per a customer request!) among the flowers and leaves. Place Christmas Wonder Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers swirls and tiny snowflakes next to the flowers and directly onto the leaves. Embellish the etched holly and ornaments with dots of Red Stickles™ Glitter Glue and let dry.

This holly ornament uses the same process as the window.

Place the Stenciling Dazzles™ Stickers and apply Armour Etch Glass Etching Cream to the surface.

Rinse and remove the Dazzles™ sticker. After the ornament is completely dry, add Red Velvet Shimmer Ribbon and dots of Red Stickles™ Glitter Glue to the holly berries and let dry.

This ornament uses a snowflake from Silver Stenciling Dazzles™ Stickers as a mask placed on the ornament before the Glass Etching Cream is applied. After cleaning the glass, the “innie” pieces from the snowflake Dazzles™ sticker and Purple Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers were used as embellishment.

That’s all for today. The holidays are such a busy time, but please try and leave some time to relax and make something pretty for a friend or just for you! Happy Crafting!

Angels & Butterfly Cards

Hi everyone! Today I’m bringing you things with wings, or Angels and Butterfly cards, which are 2 of my favorite ethereal images.

First up is a Frame Pop-Out Die-Cut Card using Sara Davies Guardian Angel Cutting Die.

The Frame Pop-Out Die-Cut Cards come ready to decorate with your favorite papers and embellishments which makes this card a snap to put together!

I love the intricate details on this angel. She is so beautiful!

I used gold and black papers, from Christmas Wonder Paper Pack, on the inside frame and sides and added Red Jewel Border Dazzles™ Stickers for sparkle.

I die cut the angel from Metallic Gold Paper,  backed it with Vellum and embellished the skirt with Red Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers and a bow made from Christmas Wonders Ribbon Set.

For the card front, I traced the frame pattern onto Red Christmas Wonder Paper and matted it with Vellum.” Merry Christmas”  was cut from Metallic Gold Paper using Christmas Script Greetings Cutting Dies.

This butterfly card contains some mixed media elements. After covering the card with Winter’s Butterfly tan text paper I tore papers for the border.

Next I used Flutterby Butterflies Stencil and a lavender ink pad along the right edge.

When using the  Layering Butterflies Stamps, I like to use the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and 2 shades of purple ink.

Finally, I used the Layering Butterflies Cutting Dies to die-cut each large butterfly, create a top layer from blue paper and I added foam tape under each wing to give a lift. Stamp some small dark purple butterflies and embellish with Stickles Silver Glitter Glue and add “Love” cut from both navy blue paper and Metallic Silver Paper using Script Greeting Cutting Dies.

That’s all for today. Have a wonderful week and try to leave some time to make something pretty and pass it on to someone else. Happy Crafting!

Heidi Swapp DIY Holiday Village

Glitter and Christmas seem to go hand in hand, but glitter can be a real mess. Right? That’s why I was so excited to use Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Kiss on the adorable Heidi Swapp Holiday Village.

Each piece is sold separately so you can customize your village however you want.

I started with the Holiday Village Kraft Church, which comes flat so it’s easy to decorate and there are these great adhesive tabs so it’s a snap to put together. No glue needed!

I used a small paintbrush to apply Cosmic Shimmer Sahara Gold Glitter Kiss around the door and window pains. I used Cosmic Shimmer Silver Chrome Glitter Kiss for the roof.

For the larger areas I used the handy Glitter Kiss sponge applicator.

For the trees I used Cosmic Shimmer Sea Green Glitter Kiss or Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Kiss Hunter Green, alternating colors for each tree that came with a house. The Glitter Kiss dries quickly, so it didn’t take long before I was able to add Mixed Media Effect Snow to the edges.

For added sparkle and a gingerbread look, I placed Twilight Jewels Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers along the roof edges and windows of the Large Kraft House.

The Small Kraft Chimney Cottage is adorable!

The Small Kraft Cottage is so tiny and cute!

The vellum windows look so pretty when battery tea lights are placed inside each house.

For a different look Susan decorated the roof and base of a Medium Kraft House with Christmas Cabin Paper Pack and Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers and Mixed Media Effect Snow.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you found some inspiration for your holiday decorating. Happy crafting.
