A Special Halloween Treat

Hi crafty friends, as Halloween grows near Paper Wishes has put together a special treat for you. This Halloween Kit includes everything you see here:

Back Dazzles™ Stickers with paper for adorable page embellishments. I like to use chalk or alcohol pens to add shading to the Dazzles™ characters.

For this card Susan backed the Dazzles™ Stickers with glitter paper.

Debbie cut apart the vinyl tag to make a card greeting. Very cleaver!

A dark background really makes these bones pop!

Double-Pocket Treat Die-Cut Cards are also included in this bundle.

They make sweet gifts for friends any time of year.

I like putting a sweet note on the tags and packets of tea in the pockets.

That’s all for today. Thanks for joining me and I’ll be back next week with some festive holiday decorations and gift packaging. Happy crafting!

A Little Birdie

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m bringing you some cute bird inspired projects. This is ironic because it’s widely known, among my friends and coworkers, that live birds give me the heebie geebies! But these sweet little crafted creatures are too cute to resist so let’s get started.

For this card I used Floral Blooms Paper and an Elegant Bird Cage Die.

Next to the bird cage I placed a Double-Stick Bird Dazzles™ Sticker and sprinkled it with a little Orchid Flock. I used my fingertip to rub it into the adhesive and brushed off the excess flock.

I finished off my card with Blue Jewel Silhouettes Dazzles™ Stickers and a Script Greeting Dazzles™ Sticker. The Illuminate Enamel DotsPink Mini Paper Roses, Ivory Mini Blossoms and pink bow add some dimension.

For the scrapbook page I used blue paper from Floral Blooms Paper and laid the 12″x12″ Birdhouse Template over the paper and used a green glimmer mist to create a shadow effect.

After cleaning the Birdhouse Template I traced a birdhouse image to make an embellishment for my page.

Lightly sanding Song Bird Foiled Fancies reveal the silver underneath the gold foil and create a nice two tone effect.

Thanks for joining me today. If you’re not a subscriber to our Paper Wishes Blog, please consider signing up so you don’t miss a thing.

Happy Crafting!

This next card also uses a simple color scheme using only Hammered Gold and Emerald Green Specialty Papers. Add some sparkle with  Gold Thin Lines Dazzles™ Stickers and Gold Tiny Words & Phrases Dazzles™ Stickers.

Finally, Susan made this next card using Rooted In Love Paper Pack. She used the simple and gorgeous technique of adding Pink Sapphire Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Kiss along the edges of the cardstock die cut edges and on the die cut birds. So cute!

Faith & Wedding Cards

With Easter and Wedding Season fast approaching, today I’m bringing you some cards that can be used for a variety of occasions.

This Boho Cross Stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs would be perfect for baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals and, of course, Easter.

This card was a snap to make. I gold embossed the Boho Cross image onto white cardstock. Then I cut it out, leaving a 1/16″ border, and then added some Teal Mirror Round Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers. The little “Blessings” is from Gold Tiny Words & Phrases Dazzles™ Stickers and can easily be changed to fit the occasion.

The Hammered Gold Paper background is layered with white cardstock embossed with the Label With Dots Embossing Folder.  I then brushed the edges and embossed surface with Indian Gold Tonic Nuvo Embellishment Mousse using a Cosmetic Wedge.

This card would be lovely for an Engagement or Wedding.

The vertical Faith, Hope & Love Stamps are perfect for banner flags. Alternating the blue tile and white wood Indigo Lace Papers provided nice contrast.

The coordinating Royal Blue Chantilly Mixed Blooms flower layered over the ivory bow from the Indigo Lace Ribbon Set adds just the right pop of color!

That’s all for today. I hope you found a dose of inspiration here. Happy crafting!

Cozy Christmas Cabin

Hi everyone! I have a new paper pack to show you this week! Christmas Cabin is cozy, colorful and versatile!

The coordinating Christmas Cabin Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers provide just the right embellishment for pages, cards and other paper crafts.

This adorable family Christmas page also includes Red Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers, Christmas Cabin Ribbons, Yuletide Greetings Embellishment Bottle and a beautiful Botanica Red Flower.

I love that the Christmas Cabin Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers include sentiments that work for both scrapbooking and cardmaking.

This wreath on a picket fence card is made with Christmas Cabin Paper Pack and Ribbons, Long Christmas Greetings Dazzles™ Stickers, Tonic Autumn Red Nuvo Crystal Drops, Yellow/Green Cat’s Eye Queue Ink Pad Set, and the New Layering Wreath & Pinecones Stamp Set.

To make the stamped wreath, I used 2 shades of green ink and the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform to stamp the wreath twice.

I made a quick video to show you how this wreath was made using the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform.

5 Exciting Stencil Paste Ideas You’ve Got To Try!

Stenciling is incredibly fun! It might even be one of my favorite things about crafting! Stenciling has all the fun of painting, while also being quick and often foolproof. For many of us, inking our stencils is the go-to. But using a paste with your stencil lends texture and dimension that can really elevate the look of your project!

It’s very easy to use a wide variety of pastes with your stencils. Simply place your stencil where you’d like your design. You can use the whole stencil, or just part of the design (use stencil tape to hide the parts you aren’t using). I also recommend using stencil tape to secure your stencil in place to prevent shifting.

Then, simply spread a thin layer of paste across your stencil (go easy, you can always add more). Remove your stencil and wash it right away. Allow your image to dry completely. Congratulations—you’re going to love experimenting with all the fun looks you can achieve! Here are some of my favorite pastes for stenciling.

Asphalt Paste

Adds a dark, gritty texture that is perfect for urban themes, Halloween and more!

Glass Bead Glitter Gel

This stuff is truly beautiful and amazing—I just had to show you a couple of examples. Perfect for Christmas card making, you can layer this sparkling gel over an inked design for colors with texture and sparkle!

You can also stencil it directly onto acetate for clear, glittery sparkle! Here, the acetate was placed over a self-adhesive mirror sheet for a double-dose of shine.

Pearlescent Embossing Paste

This pearly, glistening paste adds a little bit of magic to your projects! One of Teresa’s tips for this product? Tint your Pearlescent Paste with ink refills to customize your look!

Crackle Embossing Paste

This is a super fun one—a paste that gives this wonderful crackling effect! Gail added Crackle paste over a dried layer of black embossing paste.

Glossy Black Embossing Paste

We carry a variety of embossing pastes in black, white, silver, gold, and copper, but for an extra special look try Glossy Black Embossing Paste! It adds gorgeous, patent-leather shine that will definitely enhance your cards, scrapbook pages, art journals and more!

I hope you enjoyed this peek at just a few of the stenciling options available here at Paper Wishes! You’ll have the best result with these pastes by spreading them with a straight edge of some sort. You could use an old gift card, but here are a couple of other options:
