Spellbinder Flowers

Hi friends! Today I have some fun projects using Spellbinder Flower Cutting Dies. I’m a big fan of flower cutting dies because they are a tool that I use often.

Tip: To purchase any of the items featured today just click on the underlined links and you will be taken to the Paper Wishes product page.

Debbie made this beautiful card using Sunshine & Smiles Artful Card Kit and Belated Birthday Wishes Cutting Die. Debbie also used the 8 Fancy Flourish Cutting Dies by Anna Griffin to make the pretty swirls extending from under the flowers.

She used both the Laced Flowers Cutting Die and Shapeabilites Succulent and Mum Cutting Dies and cut her blossoms from Pastel Cardstock. Then she used Purple, Yellow/Green and Pink Ink Pads to color the edges and blossom centers.

Cosmic Shimmer Specialist Acrylic Glue is perfect for layering the die cut pieces and gluing the Rainbow Sparkletz to the flower centers and around the card.

This next project is actually a 5 1/2″ square frame made with Special Day Frame Cutting Dies, pink and ivory 12×12 Spectrum Bright Cardstock Papers and white cardstock.

I used a Medium Stylus Tool to curve the different sizes of petals.

I also wrapped the petal edges around the Stylus Tool to slightly curve them.

After coloring the petal edges, with Golden Glow Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polish, I used Cosmic Shimmer Specialist Acrylic Glue to layer and glue the flowers. Barefoot Beach Sparkletz were the perfect touch for the flower centers.

Finally, I cut a frame stand from white cardstock and glued it to the back of the frame.

Love & Friendship Cards

Hello friends! Today I have some sweet card treats for you! Stampingbella is one of my favorite stamp companies because they have adorable artwork.

Tip: To purchase any of the items featured today just click on the underlined links and you will be taken to the Paper Wishes product page.

Isn’t this card the sweetest? Debbie used Joy Ride Paper Pack, Pink Jewel Border Dazzles™ Stickers, Butterfly Girl Brianna Stamp and Words Sweet Stamp Set for the greeting.

Debbie used Spectrum Noir Pens to color her Butterfly Girl and even added Coral Coast Sparkletz to the wings.

Debbie also used a Stylus to shape the Pastel Cardstock flowers made with Shapeabilities Flower Cutting Dies. She added a little ink to the edge of each petal before gluing the blossoms together.

For this card I used Lemonade Paper Pack and Up, Up & Away Stamps.

I cut the Varied Hearts Border from black cardstock and again from red daisy paper. I filled in the black border with hearts from the red daisy border as shown.

After coloring with Spectrum Noir Pens I used Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff on the unicorn mane to add dimension.

For a final touch of sparkle I glued Red Hearts Sparkletz among the stamped hearts.

Amazing Impresslits by Tim Holtz

Hi friends! Today I’m excited to bring you some great little embossing/cutting folders called Impresslits from Tim Holtz. They are tiny folders, easy to store, that both emboss and cut any number of paper materials, such as cardstock, vellum or metallic foil.

Tip: To purchase any of the items featured today just click on the underlined links and you will be taken to the Paper Wishes product page.

This card uses Let It Shine Artful Card Kit for the background, 3-D Laurel, 3-D Provincial and 3-D Medallion Impresslits Embossing Folders with Dies.

I used Metallic Gold Paper to create each of the Impresslit embellishments.

I inked the edges and surfaces with Jet Black StazOn® Ink Pad because it is a permanent ink and won’t rub off the metallic surface.

I finished my card by adding a cut-out and greeting from Let It Shine Artful Card Kit. I also created a flower from Shapeabilities Succulent and Mum Flower Cutting Die and added Enamel Dots to the center and around the card.

Debbie’s beautiful card uses Floral Musings Paper Pack, Double Stitched Oval Dies, Birthday Birds Stamp & Die Set, 3-D Burst, 3-D Flourish and 3-D Laurel Impresslits Embossing Folders.

She used Blue Parakeet Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polish on paper to create her own unique color. After letting it dry she used the 3-D Laurel Impresslits Embossing Folder to both emboss and cut.

Lavender Blue Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polish and Raspberry Sorbet Cosmic Shimmer Lustre Polish were used on the 3-D Flourish and 3-D Burst Impresslits Embossing Folders with Die. I love the bright colors!

Also some Enamel Dots add to the cards texture and sparkle!

Here’s a quick little video from Tim Holtz that I’ll think you’ll enjoy.

ABC & 123 Cutting Dies

Hi crafty friends! Today I’m excited to bring you some cute cards that use Alphabet Letter Die Set (with Filigree Pattern Overlay) and Number Cutting Die Set. Both are from Practical Publishing and are versatile must-have tools for any paper crafter.

For this sweet card Debbie pared The Charleston Paper Pack with Silver Sparkles Holographic Paper.

She cut the large “H” and “B” from burgundy paper, using Alphabet Letter Die Set. She topped each letter with Filigree Pattern Overlay cut from Silver Sparkles Holographic Paper. So pretty! She finished the words using silver Happy Birthday Dazzles™ Stickers.

Debbie colored the Bree Loves Buttercream stamp with La Plume Markers and added additional sparkle to the card by gluing Rainbow Sparkletz to the bow and crown.

To keep the Birthday theme going I used Dots & Stripes Paper Pack, Balloon Cutting Dies to create this fun card.

I die cut a circle from the card front using 8 Circle Double Stitched Cutting Dies. I glued Silver Ripple Holographic Paper numbers (using Number & Suffix Die Set) to the card inside back.

Die cut balloons from black and red dot papers and glue and foam tape to the card with some extending off the edges. Place Happy Birthday Dazzles™ Stickers along the bottom of the card.

It’s also a fun idea to foam tape a number to the center of a balloon!

Here’s a quick little video from Practical Publishing featuring their Card Making Magic Collection, which includes all of the cutting dies used here today.

Thanks for joining me today. Be sure to stop by next week when I feature cards from Anna Griffin’s card making kit, All About Love. Happy Crafting!

Creative Expressions Cutting Dies

Hello friends! I’ve been having the best time using Creative Expressions Paper Cuts Cutting Dies!

This white on white card was completed in just minutes! The monochromatic color scheme (which can be achieved with any color) has such an elegant look. I used white cardstock, Creative Expressions Paper Cuts Collection Butterfly Garden Cutting Dies and some white ribbon.

Tip: The Best Wishes Die Cut was actually connected and I cut the words apart to fit the card center opening.

Tip: I find it helpful to use stencil or washi tape to secure the outer die evenly spaced around the decorative die.

This pretty green and white card continues with the white die cut theme, but the fresh spring green background makes everything really pop!

I used Pastel Cardstock, Mini Expressions Get Well Soon Cutting Die, Creative Expressions Paper Cuts Collection Thistle Patch Cutting Die, Coconut Palms Sparkletz, and a Lime Green Button and bow.

This colorful card uses Cosmic Shimmer Colours Shimmer Skakers which gives the Paper Cuts Honey Bee Circle Cutting Die a pretty pearlescent shimmer.

To make this card, I die cut the Honey Bee Circle from a square of white cardstock without using the outer die cut circle.

I Sprinkled the die cut with Lime Burst and Electric Blue Cosmic Shimmer Shakers.

Lightly mist with water and blot with a paper towel and let dry.

I added the Mini Expressions “Thinking Of You” Cutting Die to the center and Ice Sparkletz to he flower centers.

Thanks for joining me today and don’t miss tomorrow’s Paper Wishes Weekly Webisodes featuring Hunkydory! Happy crafting!

NEW Penny Black Valentine Stamps

Happy New Year crafty friends! The Paper Wishes staff is excited to bring you some sweet Valentine cards, made with Penny Black stamps!

Debbie used Back Porch Paper Pack, Hearts Around Cutting Dies, Flower Flourish Cutting Dies and Happy Hugs Clear Stamps to create this adorable “Happy Hugs” card.

I love how she added a pop of color with dark pink ink from Pigment Ink Pad Bonanza! And for sparkle, Red Jewel Border Dazzles™Stickers and Red Heart Jewel Dazzles™Stickers. She even added a tie of brown Jute Twine which adds another rustic touch.

This sweet Valentine uses Buttercup Paper Pack, Red Hearts Holographic Paper, All My Loves Stamp Set, Words Sweet Stamps, Love & Miss You Cutting Dies and Peppermint Jazz Sparklets Embellishments.

To get this look, stamp the image 3 times. Once on Red Hearts Holographic Paper and twice on white cardstock. Cut out the “LOVE” image as shown.

Cut paws and rose only from one cardstock image and color with Spectrum Noir Pens. Color the entire bear on the remaining cardstock image, using Spectrum Noir Pens. Glue the holographic LOVE image to the full bear image.

Die cut the “you,” from Love & Miss You Cutting Dies, from Red Herts Holographic Paper and glue Peppermint Jazz Sparkletz Embellishments around the stamped image.

For more Valentine inspiration using Penny Black Stamps and Cutting Dies, checknout our Weekly Webisode, Tomorrow January 2nd. Thanks for joining me today and from all of us at Paper Wishes, Happy New Year!

Friendship & Flowers

Hello friends and happy holidays to you all! I hope you’ve had the opportunity to share the season with friends this week. Speaking of friends, we have made some lovely friendship inspired cards and can’t wait to share them with you!

The Flower Flourish Cutting Dies make a beautiful flower vine! I used green Pastel Cardstock, Flowers, Flourishes & Feathers Paper Pack and Stitched Stackers Cutting Die for the card background, vine and flowers.

I sponged green ink, from Pigment Ink Pad Bonanza, on the edges of the green vines, leaves and flowers.

I die cut large and small flowers from both lavender and purple Flowers, Flourishes & Feathers Paper Pack and used a paintbrush handle (an excellent substitution if you don’t own a stylus) and foam mouse pad to curve each petal. I also inked the petal edges with either lavender or burgundy ink.

And for the finishing touches I added half pearls from Jelly Fish Sparkletz Embellishments, Pink Flowers, Flourishes & Feathers Ribbons and a greeting from Smile Today! Stamp Set.

Debbie made this beautiful card using Vase Garden Cling Rubber Stamp, Ribbon Stackers Cutting Dies, Black/White & Colors Too Paper Pack and the Choose Happy Stamp Set.

After coloring her image with Le Plume Pens, Debbie cut out the image and added Crystal Lacquer (coming soon to Paper Wishes) to the vase portion.

When the Crystal Lacquer dries the glossy finish looks like water in the vase.

Debbie also added Peppermint Jazz Embellishments to the poppy centers and black buttons to the card front.

Thanks for joining me today! And from all of us at Paper Wishes, Happy New Year!

Distress Oxide Ink Pads

Hi everyone! Have you tried Ranger’s Distress Oxide Ink Pads? I haven’t used them in awhile and after playing with them today I remember why I’m a fan!

If you haven’t tried them, here’s a recap: The inks are a fusion of both pigment and dye ink. What you get is an opaque ink that works great on both light and dark cardstock.

To create my background I used Dried Marigold Distress Oxide Ink and then I added Pine Needles Distress Oxide Ink Pad.

I really like the chalky look of the Distress Oxide Ink and it blends and moves around the paper beautifully.

Next I used the All Over Swirls Stencil and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide Ink to add another layer to my background.

The final step in creating my background was to mist the inked paper from about 12” away. I didn’t want to get it too wet, just enough to “activate” the Oxide and make the ink really pop!

I used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad and Stamp A Garden Stamp Set on the Distress Oxide Ink background.

I applied Pine Needles Distress Oxide Ink to one half of some scrap white cardstock and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide Ink to the other half.  I stamped 3 line art butterflies from the Stamp A Garden Stamp Set, cut them out and Foam Taped them to the card for dimension.

One of the great things about Distress Oxide Ink Pads is that they are very opaque and the ink literally sits on top of the cardstic without soaking in. That’s why it works so well on dark cardstock. I stamped this greeting using Dried Marigold Distress Oxide Ink Pad.

Thanks for joining me today. See you next week with Apple Blossom Embossing Folder techniques. Happy crafting!

A Stampendous Christmas!

Hello crafty friends! I’m excited to bring you wonderful Christmas stamps from our friends at Stampendous.

When I saw this Natvity Stamp it reminded me of stained glass and I knew I would use it on a window card.

After Black embossing on Heat Resistant Acetate I covered a 5” square card with Christmas Tidings paper.

Then I approximated where my window would go.

I used a Retractable Pen Knife to start my window.

And then, after placing the Acetate behind the window, I carefully began to tear an opening.

Before gluing the stamped image behind the torn away window I colored it with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Ink Pens. Burgundy (Red Pen Set) Blue (Turquoise Pen Set) and Yellows (SkinTone/Pale Hues Pens). I also added a burgundy Crepe Ribbon bow.

Here are some more Christmas projects made by Stampendous’s talented design team.

This sweet card uses Snowman Cardinals Cling Rubber Stamp & Dies Set.

This darling gift bag uses Cool Penguin Clear Stamp & Die Set. I love the cute little hat and sweater stamps that dress up the little guy.

And finally, this versatile Music 8″x8″ Cling Rubber Stamp can be used all year around to create beautiful backgrounds.

Thanks for joining me today. Be sure to check out some of your favorite must have items that are back in stock at Paper Wishes. We also have a new “Contact & Request” page. It’s the big pink square on our home page labeled “REQUESTS.”

Happy crafting,

LeNae Gerig
