Amazing Card Edgers

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m bringing you Edger Cutting Dies from Creative Expression that will take your cards to the “next level.”

This delicate Dragonfly card could not have been easier to make. I’ll walk you through it.

Place the Creative Expression Dragonfly Edger Cutting Die on the right side of a blank White Card (6″ tall) and run through a die cutting machine (with at least a 6″ wide platform)

Die cut a second image (focusing on the dragonfly) from pink Pastel Cardstock. Cut the dragonfly free from the surrounding image, as shown.

Align and glue the pink cardstock dragonfly over the card edge dragonfly.

I stamped a greeting from Grateful Heart Stamp Set and glued half pearls, rhinestones and flower sequins, from Aloha Sparkletz Embellishments, among the flowers and swirls.

Sparkletz Embellishments, from Buttons Galore, are the perfect companion to card making!

I lined the card inside back with aqua blue paper from the All My Heart Paper Pack and ribbon from Dots & Stripes Ribbon Set.

Here’s another example, from the wonderful Design Team at Creative Impressions, using the Daisy Edger Cutting Die and a Mini Expressions Cutting Die. Notice that the die cut “Happy Birthday” and the card inside back are misted with Lush Pink Cosmic Shimmer for a pop of color!

Also using the Daisy Edger Cutting Die, Debbie colored the die cut flowers, vines and leaves using Le Plume Markers. Notice how the gold sequins, from Coconut Palms Sparkletz Embellishments and the gold Happy Birthday Dazzles™ Stickers (now available in multi-colors) add sparkle!

You can see more of the Edger Cutting Dies from Creative Expressions tom on Paper Wishes Weekly Webisodes. Thanks for joining me today and happy crafting!

Mini Trifold Cards

Hi everyone! Today I want to show you the adorable Mini Tryfold Stamp Sets and Cards from Art Impressions. The Stamp & Die Sets make it easy to make clever cards that reveal different layers as you open them.

The Christmas Circlet Mini Tryfold Card is one of my favorites with each scene changing as you open the panels.

This card also used 8 Circle Double Stitched Cutting Dies. I just love the cute stitched edge.

The final panel reveals the circular greeting and Santa!

The Potting Shed Mini Tryfold Stamps & Dies make cards that take you behind French doors and into a cute “She Shed.”

Doesn’t this panel look like it would be fun to color? You can use either Spectrum Noir Pens (Alcohol Based) or Le Plume Markers (Water Based).

This card also used Square Double Stitched Cutting Dies.

For cards with a more masculine feel, the Tool Shed Mini Tryfold Stamps & Dies makes fun “Man Cave” cards.

I love the details on this panel.

And finally, the “Lookin’ sharp!” greeting.

Each stamp and die set has instructions on how to create your own trifold cards or you can buy them pre-folded.

Buying packs of 8 Trifold Cards & Envelopes make the cards even easier!

Holly & Snow

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m bringing you Holly & Snow themed cards using Practical Publishing Cutting Dies.

I used the 6″x6″ Holly Cutting Die and Merry Christmas Cutting Die to make this sweet Gold Embossed card.

The technique to randomly emboss the black cardstock holly is so easy to do and you can watch it on the November 28 Paper Wishes Weekly Webisode, which features the cutting dies.

This snowflake card features the 6″x6″ Snowflake Cutting Die. For sparkle I placed Silver Jewel Border Dazzles™ Stickers on the die cut snowflake.

Both of the cards use Cosy Christmas 6″x6″ Paper Pad which has a cute collection of rustic Christmas themed papers.

To make a card collection as a gift, the 6″x6″ Card & Box Cutting Dies made the perfect storage box for my 6″x6″ cards (this box die requires a die cutting machine with a 9″ wide platform). I used Silver Sparkles Holographic Paper for the box and Heat Resistant Acetate for the window. I even added some Gold Embossed butterflies using the All Around Greetings Clear Stamps.

Thanks for joining me today and for more ideas and techniques, using the products from todays blog, please check out our NEW Paper Wishes Weekly Webisode, on Wednesday, November 28.

Happy crafting everyone!

Cards With Sparkle!

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m brining you cards with sparkle!

This poinsettia card features Sara Davies Glamour Glitter Cardstock, which comes with Pink, Black and Silver glitter cardstock sheets.

After covering the card with black and silver glitter sheets I used Sara Davies Flourishing Frame Cutting Die to make an elegant black glitter border.

The Poinsettia Dazzles™ Stickers are gorgeous when backed with the pink glitter cardstock. I placed White Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers on the center of each to coordinate with the silver background.

I wanted to keep this card neutral so I used only the black and silver Glamour Glitter Cardstock . The Sara Davies Venetian Mirror Cutting Die made a prefect backdrop for the striking yellow flowers.

To make the tag I cut a long rectangle from black glitter cardstock and cut a “v” shape on one end.  I used a white Inside/Outside Greetings Dazzles™  sticker for contrast and glued the tag under the blossom edge. A black loopy bow was the finishing touch.

Thanks for joining me today. I’ll be back on Thursday with a Halloween Treat! Until then, happy crafting!

Die’sire Fancy Edge’ables™

Hello everyone! Have you seen the Die’sire Fancy Edge’ables™ cutting dies by Crafter’s Companion?

These little 5 1/4″ long border cutting dies are so versatile and make creating amazing projects easy. This easel card uses the Die’sire Fancy Edge’ables Butterfly Dreams cutting die. I simply cut two borders from white cardstock and one from black. The butterflies give the card dimension when you pull the wings forward.

These dies have an embossing feature and I found using the Texture Accessory Silicone Rubber  Embossing Mat was necessary to bring the embossing forward. (For more on this check out the product page for Die’sire Fancy Edge’ables Butterfly Dreams and click on the image for instructions).

I used the Die’sire Fancy Edge’ables Jardin cutting die to make this frame.

It was very easy to do. I die cute four Die’sire Fancy Edge’ables Jardin borders from navy blue Lapis Lazuli Glimmer Paper and then glued the border pieces to Silver Linen Specialty Paper and cut around them, leaving a 1/16″ border.

After that I used Sticky Tape to mount the borders around a rectangle of Silver Linen Specialty Paper and cut off the top and bottom corners, leaving the bottom straight edge.

I made a stand by scoring the edge of a 2 1/2″x 4 1/2″ rectangle and then making a diagonal cut as shown.

And then I used Sticky Tape to secure the stand to the back of the frame.

I embellished the front with a photo mat made from Indigo Lace Paper, Silver Ribbon, Royal Blue Flowers and White Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers.

That’s all for today. If spring hasn’t reached you yet, just think of the rain and snow as an excuse to stay indoors and make something pretty. Happy crafting.

Angels & Butterfly Cards

Hi everyone! Today I’m bringing you things with wings, or Angels and Butterfly cards, which are 2 of my favorite ethereal images.

First up is a Frame Pop-Out Die-Cut Card using Sara Davies Guardian Angel Cutting Die.

The Frame Pop-Out Die-Cut Cards come ready to decorate with your favorite papers and embellishments which makes this card a snap to put together!

I love the intricate details on this angel. She is so beautiful!

I used gold and black papers, from Christmas Wonder Paper Pack, on the inside frame and sides and added Red Jewel Border Dazzles™ Stickers for sparkle.

I die cut the angel from Metallic Gold Paper,  backed it with Vellum and embellished the skirt with Red Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers and a bow made from Christmas Wonders Ribbon Set.

For the card front, I traced the frame pattern onto Red Christmas Wonder Paper and matted it with Vellum.” Merry Christmas”  was cut from Metallic Gold Paper using Christmas Script Greetings Cutting Dies.

This butterfly card contains some mixed media elements. After covering the card with Winter’s Butterfly tan text paper I tore papers for the border.

Next I used Flutterby Butterflies Stencil and a lavender ink pad along the right edge.

When using the  Layering Butterflies Stamps, I like to use the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and 2 shades of purple ink.

Finally, I used the Layering Butterflies Cutting Dies to die-cut each large butterfly, create a top layer from blue paper and I added foam tape under each wing to give a lift. Stamp some small dark purple butterflies and embellish with Stickles Silver Glitter Glue and add “Love” cut from both navy blue paper and Metallic Silver Paper using Script Greeting Cutting Dies.

That’s all for today. Have a wonderful week and try to leave some time to make something pretty and pass it on to someone else. Happy Crafting!
