New Beautiful Borders Engraved Dazzles™ Stickers

Hi everyone! I’m excited to show you Paper Wishes New set of Beautiful Borders Engraved Dazzles™ Stickers! This line of Dazzles™ is different because they have a transparent finish and the gold and silver embossing is bolder and includes etching. They are really stunning!

The set comes with 5 sheets of gold and 5 sheets of silver. So many possibilities!

For this card, I used a Center Step Die-Cut Card, Paper Painting Paper Pack and Ribbon Set, Gold Tiny Words & Phrases Dazzles™ Stickers and Bright Spectrum Noir™ Pen Set.

When using Spectrum Noir™ on Beautiful Borders Engraved Dazzles™ Stickers, or any alcohol-based pen, it is important to color on the back of the sticker (yes, the sticky side). If you color on the front, the alcohol will remove the embossed metallic finish. Fortunately, Spectrum Noir™ Pens are designed to adhere to slick surfaces, so the color won’t come off.

For this rose card I used both paper and chalk on the back of the stickers. Ruby Rose Paper Pack and Ribbon Set made just the right background for these pretty roses.

Once again I turned the sticker over and this time I brushed some green chalk onto the ferns and leaves.

I backed the double rose sticker (separate sticker not part of the border) with mauve paper that I first smudged with dark red chalk.

Then I added dimension by aligning the rose images and foam taping one over the other.

Thank you for stopping by. Remember to leave a little time to make something pretty! Happy crafting!

On The Hunt For Easter Egg Crafts

Hello everyone! I have always loved decorating Easter eggs and today I have some “next level” Easter eggs for you! These gilded eggs are stunning and surprisingly simple to do!

It is important to note that I used blown out raw eggs for these techniques. Never use eggs that you intend to eat.

If you have never blown out a raw egg, it’s very easy to do. I used a thumb tack to make a tiny hole on each end of a raw egg and then placed my mouth covering one end and blew out the contents. I washed the egg shells and let them dry before coloring with food coloring.

After the colored eggs dried I sponged on some IndigoBlu FlitterGlu, which is a wonderful glue that stays tacky even after drying, making it perfect for stamping and gilding eggs!

I dipped each of the tacky eggs into a different color of Nuvo Gilding Flakes: gold, copper and silver.

I used Scoochy Foam to buff off the excess gilding and polish the eggs.

Alcohol inks make it easy to achieve a marbled look on your eggs.

I used Tim Holtz Rustic Lodge Alcohol Inks in Bottle and Denim. Use gloves (or your fingers will be stained for days) and move the colors around on the egg.

Then I added drops of Blending Solution which allowed the colors to bleed. The solution also provides a nice shine to the eggs.

And finally, an Easter egg window card to send to someone far away.

To make the window I glued a 4 3/4″ square of The Sweet Life green dot paper and a 3″ white cardstock scalloped circle die-cut to the card front.

Center a 2 1/2″ circle cutting die on the scalloped circle and secure with Stencil Tape.

Open the card, lay flat and run through the die cutting machine.

Die cut an Easter egg and Script Greeting “happy” from Gold Sparkle Holographic Paper. Back the egg with pink paper from The Sweet Life Paper Pack and glue the egg to the back of the window edge. Embellish the egg and scallops with Fuchsia Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers and glue the “happy” die cut below the window.

That’s all for today. I hope you have an egg-ceptional time with your Easter crafts!

Faith & Wedding Cards

With Easter and Wedding Season fast approaching, today I’m bringing you some cards that can be used for a variety of occasions.

This Boho Cross Stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs would be perfect for baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals and, of course, Easter.

This card was a snap to make. I gold embossed the Boho Cross image onto white cardstock. Then I cut it out, leaving a 1/16″ border, and then added some Teal Mirror Round Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers. The little “Blessings” is from Gold Tiny Words & Phrases Dazzles™ Stickers and can easily be changed to fit the occasion.

The Hammered Gold Paper background is layered with white cardstock embossed with the Label With Dots Embossing Folder.  I then brushed the edges and embossed surface with Indian Gold Tonic Nuvo Embellishment Mousse using a Cosmetic Wedge.

This card would be lovely for an Engagement or Wedding.

The vertical Faith, Hope & Love Stamps are perfect for banner flags. Alternating the blue tile and white wood Indigo Lace Papers provided nice contrast.

The coordinating Royal Blue Chantilly Mixed Blooms flower layered over the ivory bow from the Indigo Lace Ribbon Set adds just the right pop of color!

That’s all for today. I hope you found a dose of inspiration here. Happy crafting!

Special Occasion Paper Crafts

Hi everyone! Even though the holidays are over, I find that I’m still in a party mood! A friend is getting married soon and I am honored to be giving her a Bridal Shower!

Bridal Guru David Tutera has partnered with Sizzix® and brought us these beautiful cutting dies, perfect for your special occasion paper crafts! The Sizzix® Thinlits Die Set Lantern is a snap to make with Pastel Cardstock and Vellum!

This delicate Butterfly Favor Box is so sweet and perfect for a Bridal Shower and Wedding.

For an entirely different look, perfect for a birthday party or anniversary, I used Gold Sparkles Holographic Paper, Vellum, Red Holographic Ripple and then I added Dazzling Blue Nuvo Glitter Drops among the flowers and leaves. The lanterns glow beautifully when a battery votive is placed inside!

Use 1/4″ wide Extra Sticky Tape to assemble the die cut panels.

This sparkly box would make a fun birthday party favor! I used Blue Circles Holographic for the box and Gold Sparkle Holographic for the panels and butterfly. Little dots of Dazzling Blue Nuvo Glitter Drops add the finishing touch!

This card uses the Rooted In Love Paper Pack, Dazzles™ Stickers and Ribbon Set as well as an Oval Paper Doily. I also Gold Embossed a BoBunny Laser Cut Chipboard Butterfly.

For this page Debbie altered the color of the gold Rooted In Love Dazzles™ Stickers by coloring them with a Brown (EB8) Spectrum Noir™ Pen. She even added a little cat from The Cat’s Meow Dazzles™ Stickers! Cute!

Paper Wishes 2017 Best Sellers & Favorite Things

Hi everyone! As 2017 comes to an end I thought I would share with you the products our customers and friends made our BEST SELLERS at Paper Wishes!

If you’re a stamper, then you know all about the wonderfulness of Stamping Platforms. I know they are a MUST-HAVE for me! I can’t even remember what I did before I had one.

The only difference between the Misti Stamping Tool and the Mini Misti Stamping Tool is the size and, of course, the price. If you like to only make cards then the Mini Misti may be for you. If you like a larger format to stamp other types of paper crafts then both the Misti and Tim Holtz Stamping Platform are perfect for you. All of these are among Paper Wishes best sellers for 2017!

The Misti Stamping Tool also has a Studio Bag (purchased separately) that is perfect for storage and stamping on the go!

Paper Wishes will have the New Tim Holtz Protective Sleeve in our Winter Catalog, available December 30!

If so many of you are using the Stamping Platforms you’re going to need fabulous stamps too. Another of 2017 top sellers is Hot Off The Press’s the Botanical Butterflies Stamps and Cutting Dies are just right for so many occasions and we show you just how to use them in the Botanical Butterflies Webisode.

Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Kiss may be my MOST favorite product of 2017. It’s so easy to use (the applicator sponge is built right in!), easy to clean up and the colors are vibrant! Susan also used a Dahlia Stencil to make this amazing card. See this card and other great techniques on our Glitter Kiss Webisode.

As you would expect Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pads are another versatile favorite this year and were also among our top sellers! For this card, I used both Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain sponged on the paper and then stamped the Watercolor Roses image using only water to leave a water mark impression. We have a great Distress Oxide Webisode featuring these remarkable inks and I encourage you to check it out.

Thanks for stopping by and from all of us a Paper Wishes have a safe and Happy New Year!

Faith Inspired Bible Tote & Card

Hi everyone! A few days ago I was browsing the goodies in our Paper Wishes buyer, Bethany’s, office (wouldn’t you?) when I found, what I thought was a beautiful purse. No? Not a purse. It was an AMAZING Creative Devotional Bible Tote from American Crafts and it immediately went on my Christmas List!

It has wonderful colors of cream and gold with this gorgeous aqua lining. Look at all of these pockets!

As you can see the tote is beautiful as is, but I thought “hey, it’s made of canvas; I wonder if I can color it?”

I sprinkled Indigo and Turquoise Ken Oliver Crafts Color Burst onto the canvas and used a Spritzer filled with water to mist the powder until it bled into this burst of color! I can’t wait to use mine and it would make a great gift too!

Remember you can recreate this technique with any light colored canvas purse or tote bag. Maybe it’s time to clean out those closets and refurbish some accessories?

This faith inspired card uses Song Birds Paper Pack, Ribbon Set, Prima’s Creating In Faith Mary Stamp and Spectrum Noir™ Pastels Pen Set. Don’t forget the sparkle with Grandma’s Roses Sequin Tin.

Prima’s Creating In Faith line of stamps features strong women from the Bible. They are so beautiful.

Here are some beautiful designs created by Prima.

Thanks for joining me today. Come back next week for some Steampunk inspiration. Happy crafting!

Tim Holtz Inspired Christmas

I have to confess that I’m a Tim Holtz fan! He uses familiar and timeless elements in his designs, with an edge.

This Center Step Card features Tim Holtz Thin Slits Holiday Knit Dies, Burgundy, Navy and Moka Suede Papers. The texture of the suede, makes the card feel like a REAL Christmas sweater!  I also used Tim’s Tidings Design Tape, Holiday Script Words Dies and Dimensional Stars Die cut from Hammered Gold Paper. Some Natural Jute Twine for the bow adds to the rustic theme.

The Tim Holtz Christmas 8″x8″ Paper Stack has cute vintage designs that pair perfectly with the Gift Card Package Die!

I love how the lid lifts off to reveal a gift card! I used Tiny Christmas Words Dazzles™ Stickers on the tag and black/ivory gingham ribbon from Christmas Wonder Ribbon Set next to the “December 25” that I cut from the Tim Holtz Christmas 8″x8″  Paper Stack.

That’s all for today! Enjoy the holidays and make something pretty! Happy crafting!

Glass Etching For The Holidays

Hi everyone! Do you remember Glass Etching from years ago? I sure do…lots of it on mirrors for some reason. Today I’m bringing you a NEW and better version, just in time to brighten your holiday home!

This frosted glass method gives the impression of actual glass etching that you can do at home in less than half an hour!

This Christmas themed Rustic Window would look pretty hanging it a kitchen window and it’s so easy to do!

Place Christmas Wonder Dazzles™ Stickers on the glass, while still in the frame, in order to get the placement correct. It is very important that all of the stickers are adhered well and make contact with the glass, or etching cream can sneak underneath. Remove the glass from the frame.

After stirring, place a generous amount of Armour Etch Glass Etching Cream onto the glass, over the Dazzles™ stickers. The cream can leave patterns on the glass from application, therefore; try to avoid round swirling motions and instead apply the cream in straight lines across the glass. I found success by increasing the drying time to 10-15 minutes.

Place the glass in the sink and gently wash away the etching cream. Remove the Dazzles™ stickers and blot the glass dry with paper towels.

Place the glass inside the frame and fold the metal brackets down. For additional security, I used hot glue on the corners.

I glued Red Petaloo Botanica Blooms to the top of the window frame and loops of Red Velvet Shimmer Ribbon (Hooray! Now available in 10 yard lengths, per a customer request!) among the flowers and leaves. Place Christmas Wonder Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers swirls and tiny snowflakes next to the flowers and directly onto the leaves. Embellish the etched holly and ornaments with dots of Red Stickles™ Glitter Glue and let dry.

This holly ornament uses the same process as the window.

Place the Stenciling Dazzles™ Stickers and apply Armour Etch Glass Etching Cream to the surface.

Rinse and remove the Dazzles™ sticker. After the ornament is completely dry, add Red Velvet Shimmer Ribbon and dots of Red Stickles™ Glitter Glue to the holly berries and let dry.

This ornament uses a snowflake from Silver Stenciling Dazzles™ Stickers as a mask placed on the ornament before the Glass Etching Cream is applied. After cleaning the glass, the “innie” pieces from the snowflake Dazzles™ sticker and Purple Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers were used as embellishment.

That’s all for today. The holidays are such a busy time, but please try and leave some time to relax and make something pretty for a friend or just for you! Happy Crafting!
