Vintage Cards & Scrapbook Page

Hello friends, today I’m bringing you some paper crafts with vintage style. Layering vintage elements is the key to this look. I started with a 12″x12″ cardstock background and then overlapped 5″x7″ papers, photos and die-cuts, arranging them both horizontally and vertically to fill empty space.

To make this sweet page I used Pastel Cardstock, Hello Friend Paper Layers and Hello Friend Whatnots.

I love the color scheme in this collection: Tan, Brown, Cream, Peach and Pink.

For this card I layered paper and stickers. To create a focal, I tore the image of the woman from the corner of a  5″x7″ paper.

I used Cashmere Dame Paper Layers, Hello Friend Title Stickers and a Pink Mini Paper Rose.

Thanks for joining me today. Don’t forget to shop Paper Wishes HUGE 60% Off Sale happening now.

Happy crafting!

Big Die-Cut Crafts

Hi crafty friends! Today I bring you cards and pages made from Birthday Die-Cuts Booklet and Feminine Die-Cuts Booklet. The images are large and colorful and they make the sweetest projects.

This cute elephant (from the Birthday Die-Cuts Booklet)  is one of my favorites. It was a snap to make using the Center Step Card Template.

I love the technique on this bicycle card! Extend the image off the edge and trim it even with the card edge.

This fun Birthday page was so simple to put together. Once again I used the Birthday Die-Cuts Booklet along with solid cardstock and the Build A Banner Template.

This purse card (using the Feminine Die-Cuts Booklet) is adorable and was very quick to make.

You can even use the Die-Cut shapes to make shaped cards. For this Teapot card I glued the die-cut to the front of a blank card, aligning the folded edge just under the pot lid. I used small scissors to cut around the die-cut edges.

This is what it looks like on the inside.

This scrapbook page uses Chalkboard Paper Pack, the Feminine Die-Cut Booklet and some flowers to create a precious Family themed page.

Here is a quick little video about the Die-Cut Booklets:

You can buy both Die-Cut Booklets for a great price! Check it out here.

Thanks for joining me today and happy crafting!

Card Making From Scrapbooking Kits

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m featuring card making with a twist. Paper Wishes is featuring 2 Premiere Scrapbooking Kits for the amazing price of $13.50! That’s right, for both kits! Many kits contain exclusive paper packs that were not released on Paper Wishes. Today I’m going to show you how to turn these kits into cute quick and easy cards.

If you’re not familiar with our Scrapbooking Kits, they look like this and come in 12″x12″ format.

Each kit contains paper, art cut-outs, ribbons and a large assortment of embellishments. You even get a full color newsletter with instructions for 1 card and 4 two page scrapbooking layouts.

However, if you’re not into scrapbooking you can still use these fabulous supplies to make at least a dozen cards from each kit! Yes…12 cards, or more!

The first kit features this “Get Well” card and even has full instructions.

I made this cheery “Happy Birthday” card from the Birthday Page supplies. There are plenty of blank tags and labels to stamp, write or print greetings and customize your cards.

This colorful “Family Fun” card features tinted overlays that can be placed over or under the letters. I LOVE this adorable stripe ribbon and ribbon slide!

The second kit focuses on Birthdays.

It includes everything you nee to make this adorable “Wish Book.”

And this color blocked birthday card.

For this card I used supplies for ice cream birthday themed pages. So sweet!

Don’t forget our BIG 55% off Sale continues until September 30.

Thanks for joining me today. Happy crafting!

A Little Birdie

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m bringing you some cute bird inspired projects. This is ironic because it’s widely known, among my friends and coworkers, that live birds give me the heebie geebies! But these sweet little crafted creatures are too cute to resist so let’s get started.

For this card I used Floral Blooms Paper and an Elegant Bird Cage Die.

Next to the bird cage I placed a Double-Stick Bird Dazzles™ Sticker and sprinkled it with a little Orchid Flock. I used my fingertip to rub it into the adhesive and brushed off the excess flock.

I finished off my card with Blue Jewel Silhouettes Dazzles™ Stickers and a Script Greeting Dazzles™ Sticker. The Illuminate Enamel DotsPink Mini Paper Roses, Ivory Mini Blossoms and pink bow add some dimension.

For the scrapbook page I used blue paper from Floral Blooms Paper and laid the 12″x12″ Birdhouse Template over the paper and used a green glimmer mist to create a shadow effect.

After cleaning the Birdhouse Template I traced a birdhouse image to make an embellishment for my page.

Lightly sanding Song Bird Foiled Fancies reveal the silver underneath the gold foil and create a nice two tone effect.

Thanks for joining me today. If you’re not a subscriber to our Paper Wishes Blog, please consider signing up so you don’t miss a thing.

Beautiful Paper Painting Papers

Hello everyone! I have more beautiful new papers to share with you today!

Paper Painting Paper Pack is a vibrant paper pack filled with colorful flowers and butterflies.

Gail made this amazing page using the coordinating Paper Painting Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers, Ribbon Set, Teal flower and Buttons Galore Fiesta Buttons collection. I love how Gail framed her photo using a large circle using the Easy Circles Template and curved the Dazzles™ Sticker words along the edge.

When I used Pink and Green Spectrum Noir™ Pen Sets to color the Penny Black Awaken Stamp I was pleased at how the vibrant colors in the Paper Painting Papers really made the image pop! I added an aqua bow from the coordinating Paper Painting Ribbon Set and a cheerful greeting from Everyday Greetings Dazzles™ Stickers to complete this card.

Gail made this beautiful poppy card using Layering Poppies Stamp Set and Pink and Yellow/Green Cat’s Eye Queue Ink Pad Sets. Using the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform makes putting this card together a snap!

Stamp the background image onto ivory cardstock using medium pink ink. The magnets are handy to keep things in place while you stamp.

Align the next layer of the poppy directly over the first stamped background image.

Close the Stamping Platform cover to adhere the stamp.

Open the cover,  apply magenta ink, and stamp the image.

Finally, stamp the last poppy layer with dark pink ink as you did for the previous layers.

After stamping the leaves with 2 shades of green ink, add dots of  Stickles™ Gold Glitter Glue to the flower center for sparkle!

For more inspiration using the Paper Painting Collection, check out the September 6, 2017 Webisode. The Layering Poppies Stamp Set will be featured on September 13.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to leave a little time in your life to make something pretty. Happy Crafting!

Winter’s Butterfly

Hello everyone, I have a wonderful new paper collection to show you! Winter’s Butterfly Paper Pack combines the unexpected themes of butterflies and snowflakes beautifully!

I love the page that Debbie made using Winter’s Butterfly Papers, Scrapbooking Dazzles™ Stickers and Purple Jewel Dazzles™ Stickers.

This stunning butterfly card features the Christmas Clearly Creative Kit, which includes 5 sheets of printed acetate, each with a different Christmas theme. Susan used Tim Holtz® Alcohol Inks Eggplant, Cranberry & Lettuce  and Pool to color the back side of the acetate (if you color the front the alcohol in the ink will remove the printed image). She then backed the colored acetate with Clear Glitter Sheets for sparkle! A bow made from Winter’s Butterfly Ribbons adds the finishing touch.

For this card, I altered Jeweled Snowflake Dazzles™ Stickers with Purple Spectrum Noir™ Pens.

While the Jeweled Snowflake Dazzles™ Stickers were still on the backing sheet I colored them with Spectrum Noir™ Purple (PL4) Pens.

Then I added a darker shade of purple (LV3) to add some contrast.

After placing the Dazzles™ Stickers on the card, I colored in some of the jewels with dark purple (LV3) and then added drops of Bottle Green and Oyster Grey Nuvo Crystal Drops for dimension.

A large purple flower from Petaloo Botanical Blooms Lavender/Purple and Winter’s Butterfly Ribbon on the top left corner finishes this card.

That’s all for today! Don’t miss our New Week Of Webisodes, August 28-September 1 and happy crafting!

NEW Twilight Jewels Brings The Sparkle!

Hello everyone! Have you seen Paper Wishes NEW Twilight Jewels Collection? The beautiful jewel tone colors and sparkly celestial theme make me what to jump right in and craft!

Just in time for Mother’s Day! Susan made these amazing Paper Mache Letters, perfect for your mom or your craft space! Susan painted each 8″ tall letter with Cosmic Shimmer Pink Plum Paint and after they dried she used glue stick on the front surface of each and covered with a different patterned paper from Twilight Jewels. She embellished the letters differently using Twilight Jewels Scrapbooking Dazzles™ stickers and Ribbon Set. She used Soft Pink Ranunculus silk flowers, Tiny Tags & Little Labels Template to make a sweet “Happy Mother’s Day!” tag and Savannah Stroll Buttons for the final touch!

123 white Dazzles™ with silver foil edging!

The Twilight Jewels Scrapbooking Dazzles™ are perfect for embellishing with Jewel Dazzles™, Sequins, Pearls, Stickles Glitter Glue and Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Add even more sparkle to Paper Mache Letters with Glitter Embossing Powder! First, I painted the letter with Peacock Cosmic Shimmer Paint, then I used the surface on the VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad to apply sticky embossing ink to the letter surface. After that I sprinkled Calypso Glitter Embossing Powder over the inked surface and heated with heat gun to melt the embossing powder onto the letter surface. Embellish the letter with a little ribbon from Wildflower Ribbon Set and a Purple Rose and you’re done!

This is such a quick and easy project and it would make a great gift.

Here is a quick little video to show you how easy it is to make your own monogram letter:

For this sparkling page, I embellished the Twilight Jewels Scrapbooking Dazzles™ stickers with teal half pearls from Gemstone Embellishment Bottle.

This Center Step Die-Cut card uses NEW Words Scrapbooking Dazzles™ black stickers over a 3 1/4″ wide die-cut circle from 8 Circles and Scallops Cutting Dies. Add a sweet pink flower and coordinating ribbon and you’re done!

I hope you enjoy the Twilight Jewels Collection as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Happy Thanksgiving from Hot Off The Press & Paper Wishes!

It’s Thanksgiving week! In our hometown of Canby, Oregon, the crisp, cold weather has finally arrived, and it’s starting to really feel like the holidays (in fact I’ve already spotted a few Christmas lights)! While talking about plans for the upcoming holiday weekend, I asked some of the others here to share what they were feeling thankful for:

“I am thankful for the blessings that are my family, my friends and my home.”

LeNae Gerig, Design Team

gailillustrations

“As ever, I am thankful for my two amazing boys, Lance & Connor! Also very thankful for a kind and caring boyfriend (hi Ken!) and that I am able to live a creative life through work. A dream come true!”

Gail Booth, Webisodes & Design Team

mecards“I’m thankful for my family and friends, our good health and all of the wonderful memories we have shared.”

Michelle Gustafson, Paper Wishes Blog & Social Media

melissahelhat“Hmmm, I’d say I’m thankful to be employed, but that’s way too suck-up-ish!”

Melissa, Customer Service

“I’m thankful for the Marine Corps. Without them my parents would not have met and I would not have been born. Without them I would not have met my husband. Semper Fi!”

Paulette Jarvey, Owner & President

And here we are (at least most of us)! Guess what we’re thankful for?

YOU!
