Question about shopping cart
I often use my Kindle to read the Message Board and often do a little shopping on it as well. I recently noticed that even though I logged in on both my computer and my Kindle that my shopping cart was empty on the computer but my items were there on the Kindle. Is the shopping cart saved by IP address rather than with your loving account? I was a little worried that I had lost the items in my cart but when I went back to the Kindle they WERE still there.

I wondered that too.

It is always the same way with me too.

I think the answer has to do with cookies. At many sites, when you shop, a little file called a cookie is stored on your computer that keeps track of what's in your cart. When you sign back in from the same computer with the same id, the site is looks for the cookie on your computer. If it finds the cookie file, it reloads your items into your cart. If you sign in from a different computer, no cookie is found, so nothing can be loaded into your cart. In actual practice, it's a bit more complex than that and cookies store a lot more than just shopping cart data, but that's the gist of it.

Thanks Judy. Makes sense.

Judy is absolutely right. PaperWishes stores your cart locally, on your computer, and reloads the items through a cookie. To keep the same cart, you will need to be on the computer you created the cart with.

Wish lists will work on both computers if you are logged in. I would recommend saving items to your wish list if you know you will be jumping between computers.
