Default Aloha! I'm back!

Just had a fascinating vacation to the Big Island, Hawaii. Truly amazing adventures over 2 week span. Yes, there will be scrap pages forthcoming- in a while. I found a great Scrapbook store while I was there Hilo Hawaii Memories. They created a line of paper from local photographed images. Great locally owned shop, so I had to support it in a big way. I also found a Hawaiian Quilt shop in Volcano, HI (I think it is so cool for them to be able to say they live in Volcano.) This great shop had so much beautiful fabric, and samples were all hand made, hand quilted. I bought a kit and some fabric to finish it as a small wall hanging. These were fun finds!

Sounds like a wonderful trip. Be sure to show us the quilt when you make it too! I used to do a lot of needlecrafts, including quilting.

Wow, great trip - I actually know someone who lives in Volcano...such a small world. We are really acquaintances so far; never even reached the point of her knowing I did papercrafting to mention there was a scrapbook store there, and of course, I don't quilt...but sounds like you had a great time and spent tons of money and got to at least be around crafty stuff which is all GOOD! Welcome back!

This is the 2nd trip to Hawaii this year? One lucky lady! Glad it was such a wonderful trip. Definitely a bucket list trip for me. Sounds like it was perfect. We missed you around here though, so happy you are home.

Ha ha I wish! No this is the only trip this year. My DH has a business trip there nearly every year, and I have been with him for the past couple of years. It is an amazing blessing and PERK for all those long hours he works. I have now been to the four largest islands: Kauai, Oahu, Maui, and now the Big Island of Hawai'i. Each is so very different!

I didn't spend "tons" of money, but did help the Scrapbook store out a bit. I could have bought out the Quilt store, but restrained myself to only that small wall hanging kit. Still every penny spent there helps those small businesses.
