Default December 2014 dies

I was finally playing with the December 2014 dies that were in the PS. I did one of the cards that was in the inspiration ideas that comes with the dies. I did a regular PW size card and then did a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 size. Kind of like Mom and kid.

It took me a few tries to figure out how to place the word die on the black paper so I could get to look right when I cut it out. It is quite striking looking with the linen paper and the red foil paper. I like the idea of inserting the word into the paper like that and having it smooth, I'm going to try some more like this.

Those are great. I like the mom and kid idea.

Enjoy your day,

Hmmm interesting. I don't get that PS. I'll have to play with that technique. Do you know if there is another video somewhere on the site that shows you how to do that?

Nancy: my skills at putting things into a comment are slim, so if you go to YouTube and search 'die cut inlay' you will get lots of videos. I don't remember seeing anything on PW, but there probably was a webisode about it at sometime.

Carol, thanks for doing it in the A2 size which is what I tend to make and it still looks great. It is a striking look and not bulky which is a plus. I have a supply of the extra 22 cent postage stamps for my bulky cards, saves me a trip to the post office. I am in love with word dies and am looking forward to playing with these.

Nancy, you didn't here it from me, but you might want to try Jennifer McGuire, she does a lot with word dies.
