Default RAK to MB Members

Here is a heartfelt plea to my good friends on the Message Board... our little community is suffering right now from various infirmities, including grief, recovering from surgery, economic woes, creative block, depression, chronic medical conditions and exacerbating pain, children with illness, and other problems we have not heard about. As a result, activity and chatter is down on our board, and those present are doing our best to keep positive and lift each other up.

Now is a good time for sharing some RAK - Random Acts of Kindness with each other. We each have at least one "super power" and that is card making. We can use this super power to lift each other up.

Also, there is nothing quite like GIVING TO OTHERS IN NEED to repair one's own spirit. So I would like to ask that we seriously consider a community wide effort, voluntary, but still a coordinated EFFORT, to do something "charitable". Maybe that is to send cards to St. Jude's, to Wounded Warriors, to Red Cross volunteers, to a local nursing home... to our local first responders in appreciation... to a friend we haven't heard from for a while...

Anyone interested in finding a "cause" we can support as a group? It can be a one time effort... or ongoing. Let me know.

Linda - Thanks for that reminder. I've been so absorbed with my own stuff that I forgot the simplest of solutions...and that's to reach out to others.

I also want to say that the ladies on the MB are the greatest...thanks for all the great encouraging comments and helps you've been posting.
Enjoy your day,

I didn't sleep much last night, but I got a few solid hours of overthinking done...

Linda, you are so right. I have been so caught up in health issues and financial woes that I haven't taken time to do what would help me and others. Several weeks ago, you sent me a card out of the blue, and it meant the world to me. Thank you for that. I really would like to be able to do that for someone else. I really miss all of you ladies...I'm glad I at least got to play a bit on NSD.

Meanwhile, for those so inclined, please say some prayers for my son, as we still don't have his seizures under control. The side effects of seizure meds can be terrible, and that has been awful too. He had a 6 minute Grand Mal at school on Tuesday. We are running out of options, so please say prayers, think happy thoughts -- whatever you can do -- that this new med will work.

I hope to be back soon.

Lots of love,

great post Linda - I have a friend who says all the time if everyone put their troubles on a shelf and had to choose one to take back, they'd probably take their own...Good reminder to get out of ourselves and focus outwardly!
It is not happy people who are thankful, it is thankful people who are happy.
