Default January 2018 Week 3 Challenge Due 1/31/18

It's time for a new challenge! Many of you enjoyed our ABC challenge before Christmas in 2016. We're going to do a "General" ABC this time, but each month there will be an additional requirement.

In some ways it will be more open. The Christmas ABC challenge required a focal, a technique and a color all using the same letter of the alphabet (for example, Angel, acrylic paint, and aquamarine). This time you only need to choose your focal or main theme using the letter and then follow the specific instructions for that month.

One of the other suggestions for weekly challenges was to challenge folks to use different media. That is what we will do at first, and then we'll see what else I come up with!!

So for January, your main theme will use the letters A, B or C. Also for January, you should use Gelatos, Ranger Distress Crayons, oil pastels, or similar. If you don't have any of those things, regular crayons will be acceptable. I don't want anyone to be eliminated from the challenge because they don't have specific items.

Here are some ideas for this challenge. (You are not limited to these - use your imagination- and I know from 2016 that you all always come up with great ideas!)

A
Anniversary
Aunt
Animals

B
Baby
Baptism
Beginnings
Birthday
Brrrrr

C
Child
Christening
Cats!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cold

I did see this first, and thought you were in good timing too.

Default Celebrate Copper Colorme

HOTP Color Me Card Leaves Toppers (copper)
Gelatos- brown, gold, metallic gold, purple, 2 blues

I used the method shown in Lindas shared video where you use a wet paint brush on the end of the gelato and brush color on like watercolor. Works good but am not impressed with the final result as the color paper really is too light weight for watercolor and warped significantly. Also the purple gelato is really pink, not what I had envisioned for that card. I did use stamps and copper embossing powder on insides.

I see what you mean about the color Heather, and I think I can visualize where you wanted it to go with a more purple color, but I think it still looks pretty!

Couldn't sleep so I started looking through my PS Cardmaker's papers and made this card. I used B for Bandage. Used the PS Cardmaker's papers, Pink Pearl Swirly Hearts dazzles, 11 Labels & Trims cutting dies, Gelatos for background paper, SOL bandage2stamps & cutting die set.

I was surprised by the warping on the color-me, Heather... seems to be what it was designed for. still looks cool.

you were very 'light' pastel last night, Dee. Another nice one!

Another card using the PS Cardmaker's papers plus the Color Me Geometric Card Toppers, Crystal Lacquer, Brown card stock, and Sizzix Banner stamp and die set. So should this be B for Bear or Baby, or A for Animal?

So, my goal is going to be to make at least one card for each letter of the alphabet like I did with the Christmas cards. So, the first card is going to be A for Animal. This one is C for Cuckoo Bird or Cuckoo Clock. Used the PS Cardmaker's papers, Copper Color Me, Copper Card Art dazzles, PS Dazzle scraps, and Gelatos to color the papers.
