Art Ideas Album — By: Sara Naumann

Designer Tip: Mini albums aren't just for photos! Sara turned this cool alterable album into a go-to storage space for creative ideas and inspiration.

  1. Glue an 8 1/2" square of striped paper to the front surface of the album with the stripes positioned vertically. Remove the album posts and ink the back surface, the spine and the edges of the front surface of the album white.
  2. Cut a 3"x8 1/2" strip of green texture paper and tear off one long edge. Ink the straight edges of the strip white. Sand a yellow brad and use it to attach layered blue and yellow flowers to the top of the strip. Glue the strip even with the left edge of the striped square.
  3. Punch out yellow and green monograms to spell “art”, plus two blue brackets and an “&”. Sand the edges of each. Glue the word “art” diagonally across the front of the album. Sand 7 yellow mini brads and add three to each bracket. Glue the brackets to the left and right of the word “art”.
  4. Computer journal “Ideas” and “inspiration” together on yellow texture paper, leaving a 1 1/4" space between the words. Crop the journaling to a strip and ink the edges black. Mat on white cardstock, trim to 1/16" and ink the edges black. Mat again on green texture paper, trim to 1/8" and ink the edges black. Attach the “&” between the words using the final sanded mini brad. Glue the journaling at an angle below the word “art”.
