Fold-It Swirls Flower — By: Shauna Berglund-Immel

Designer Tips: Fold-It Swirls shapes make excellent accents for card fronts, scrapbook pages and gift packages. Shauna used one of six unique patterns from the Fold-It Swirls template to create this sweet rose shape, matting the pattern on white before folding it to make sure each of the petals stands out.

Want an even faster, easier way to create tons of customized folded shapes for your paper crafts? Try Fold-It Swirls Punches! These punches come in 5 shapes including this rose pattern plus four other patterns that you won’t find on the template. Just punch the pattern out of your favorite patterned or glimmer paper, cardstock or vellum to coordinate with your project, then follow the instructions to fold it into shape. Personalized, coordinating accents are just minutes away!

  1. Ink the edges of a 2 1/2"x7" piece of yellow textured paper black and turn the paper piece so it is vertical. Cut a 4 1/2" length of lime Dolcino ribbon. Glue the ribbon length vertically up the center of the yellow textured paper, gluing one end of the ribbon length even with the bottom edge of the paper. Cut a 2 1/2"x1 1/2" piece of green with flowers paper, ink the edges and glue against the bottom edge of the yellow textured paper. Mat the layered papers on white cardstock and trim the mat to 1/16". Mat again on rose cardstock, trimming the mat to 1/8".
  2. Trace the rose shape from the template onto the back of the rose grid paper. Cut out the shape and mat on white cardstock, trimming the mat to about 1/16", and fold the pattern into shape. Add one yellow brad to the center of the folded flower. Use a Glue Dot™ to attach the rose over the visible end of the ribbon length. Knot a 3 1/2" length of lime Dolcino ribbon and attach the knot over the center of the ribbon "stem" with Glue Dots™.
  3. Cut out the “flowers” ribbon fragment and the circular ladybug artwork. Glue the ribbon fragment at an angle over the green with flowers paper piece. Glue the ladybug in the top left corner of the yellow textured paper piece.
