“Dad: Priceless” — By Laura Nicholas

Designer Tip: Rich, masculine colors, geometric patterns and sanded metal tools make this card perfect for the priceless Dad in your family.

For the Card Front:

  1. Place the card with the fold at the top. Glue a 1 1/2"-wide strip of brown dotted paper even with the fold, trimming any excess even with the card edges. Glue a 1/2"-wide strip of brown/blue striped paper (stripes running vertically) even with the bottom edge of the card front, trimming the excess. Glue a 3 1/4"-wide piece of brown mesh paper between the other two papers, trim the excess and ink the edges of the card front.
  2. Glue two 1 3/4"x3" pieces and a 2 1/2"x3" piece of brown textured paper evenly spaced across the brown mesh paper, then add penwork around the edges of each. Sand the surface of one of each of the three Brad Buddies™, plus the brads to attach them, then attach one over each of the brown textured pieces.
  3. Computer journal “hammer”, “wrench” and “power drill”, plus dollar amounts onto light brown textured paper and cut each to a tag shape. Ink the edges of each tag, punch a hole in the tab and run embroidery floss through. Wrap the floss around each of the respective Brad Buddies™ and tie the tails together, then foam tape the tags in place.

For the Card Inside:

  1. Ink the edges of a 6 1/2"x2 1/2" strip of brown textured paper and add penwork around the edges. Mat the long edges on striped paper (stripes running vertically) and ink the edges, then glue across the bottom of the card inside.
  2. Mat a square photo on brown mesh paper, trim to 1//8" and ink the edges. Computer journal onto light brown textured paper and crop to a small and a large tag shape. Ink the edges of each tag and punch a hole in the tab. Run embroidery floss through both holes and wrap it around the bottom of the photo, then foam tape the photo and tags over the left end of the paper strip.
