It’s Cold Out Here! — By: Susan Cobb

Designer Tip: I used a background paper with a decorative corner treatment to fill the element of the sketch in that area of the page. I printed tags (free download) to match the papers for journaling and the title. I backed snowflakes and a swirl sticker with paper and trimmed around the edges for a contrasting look before adding them to my page. Red rick-rack adds fun and brings out the red in the background paper. Aqua mini brads at the snowflake centers finish the look.

  1. Turn the background paper so the swirls and snowflakes corner is at the upper left. cut a 9 12” x 1 ½” striped paper rectangle and mat on red cardstock, leaving a 1/16” border. Glue across the page, 3 ¼” from the bottom and 5/8” from the right side. Glue ribbon and rick-rack across the center of the rectangle (or just add 2” length at each end to save on ribbon). Mat a 4 x 6” photo on aqua cardstock leaving a 1/8” border. Mat again on red, leaving a very thin border, then white, leaving a 1/8” border. Ink edges silver.
  2. Mat printed tag with aqua and white cardstock, and mat label on white, leaving a thin border. Write or computer print journaling on label and glue to the page as shown. Glue the tag and photo to the page, overlapping the striped paper rectangle as shown. Glue rick-rack along left edge of the photo mat.
  3. Back snowflake stickers with white cardstock or light blue/white dots paper. Back swirl with aqua cardstock. Trim evenly around the edges and add to the page. Add mini brads as shown. Add “chilly” sticker to the photo and Zot ribbon below.
