I haven't gotten these yet, but it occurred to me, when watching the demo video, that you could use the "bridges" to hold the individual pieces while coloring or embossing them. That way you can do your altering all at once without having to worry about messing them up with your fingers. Just don't forget to snip them off before you place them on your project.
